Hi, Thanks for the comments. I hope that Paul can add support for it soon.
Its a great keyer and solves all the keying reliability problems that
Windows ( especially XP) adds to trying to drive CW through the DTR pin of
a serial port!. By sending ASCII down a serial port and having the K1EL
keyer manage the keying of the rig gives consistent and predictable keying
irrespective of what is going on in the Windows environment.
I've worked out what I was doing to make it work. WKTERM is a dos
application that can be used to test the K1EL keyer. I was running that
under a DOS BOX in XP, and then opened up DX4WIN. K1EL keyer was on a serial
port that was not used by DX4WIN so they both coexisted together and I was
able to use the paddle connected to K1EL to key the rig, but of course none
of the DX4Win macros worked! OK for a temp workaround!
