The location DX4WIN installs to, program files, probably requires
administrator priviledges to routinely write access. I hit this on
Turbotax last year when my family wanted to use my copy installed into
the program files area. I had to make them all administrators on the
computer to make that work or to set things up to save their files
elsewhere. I suspect that this may be your problem also.

Subject: [Dx4win] Dx4win v 6.02 - Windows 2000pro

Hello DX4WIN-lovers,
I just got a laptop with win2000pro to be used in my summer cottage and
have ran into a problem. I cannot save new QSOs into my QSO-file
SM0LZT.dxl
kept in the SAVE folder. When trying I get this message:
An exception occurred!
Cannot create file c:\Program files\dx4win602\save\sm0lzt.dxl. Access is
denied.

I copied the original DX4WIN-zip file over to the laptop plus the
SAVE-folder from my PC where I use W98SE. I have read in the manual that
DX4WIN will recognize which operating system being in use and adopt
itself
accordingly. I tried to find some facts in the DX4WIN archives but could
not find anything older than Jan 2002. I guess any questions relating
to Win2000 were dealt with earlier.

So now my hope is that there is somebody out there who knows what to do.
Please give me a hint! Erik
