[Dx4win] Interfacing FT-847 with DX4WIN

Hi all

I've been trying to interface DX4WIN with a Yaesu FT-847,
but without sucess.
I've done a "null" modem cable, connected it (both on PC and
rig), setup DX4WIN for the right radio and FT-847 for the
proper baud rate (9600). The "CAT" icon does appear when
program starts, but after a couple tries an error message says
"An exception occured!
Acess violation at adress 0050fa74 in module "DX4WIN.EXE".
Read of address FFFFFFFF"
I already tested the cable with another program (MixW) and 
it works fine
I apreciate any help on this subject.

P.S. FYI the serial number is 8E030405, and according to the
        previous owner, it has all the applicable updates.
