I have a Yaesu FT-1000MP MKV and use the following, works fine;
          Radio Type:   Yaesu FT1000MP
          Address:         00
          Baudrate:        4800
          Default:           checked
          Com Port:       COM1
          Poll rate (ms):  1000
          Max tries:         6
          Notes for radio:  empty
I believe for the FT1000D you have to set "Radio Type" to Yaesu FT1000 and
check "Default". Note that "Notes for radio" will now show "Requires EPROM
6.0 or later". You must have EPROM 6.0 installed. If not your 1000D will not
work with computer control.

I would call Yaesu again and mention the above. Only this time talk to a
different technician!!!
