[Dx4win] eQSL export

Steve,

I exported my log from DX4WIN to eQSL using the ADIF export format. I had
too many QSOs to send them as one file {nowhere near your 100,000,
however!!}, and had to break the log into pieces using eQSL's splitter
program (available from their web site). After splitting the ADIF file into
pieces, you then import and process each file separately - takes about 30
seconds per file.

If I recall correctly, the max number of QSOs per individual transfer was
low... around 1,000. With as many QSOs as you have, I would send eQSL a note
and ask if you could arrange the transfer some other way. (send them the
full ADIF file as a ZIPped email attachment or on a CD and let them do it
from their end...)

IF YOU HAVE PSK31 QSOs IN YOUR DX4WIN LOG
One error occurred with the ADIF export/import: DX4WIN exported my PSK31
QSOs as mode="PSK3" and mode descriptor length= 4 (which conforms to the
ADIF standard). However, eQSL's import routine does not recognize "PSK3".
After you run your ADIF export, you have to do a global search/replace on
your ADIF file and change every mode to something eQSL does accept - either
"PSK" or "PSK31" (you can use Notepad to do this). After globally changing
the mode, you must then adjust the mode descriptor length in the header to
"3" (for PSK) or "5" (for PSK31) depending on which you selected for the
global replace. IF YOU DON'T MAKE THESE CHANGES BEFORE IMPORT, eQSL will
reject all of your PSK31 QSOs. (NOTE - there is no documentation anywhere at
eQSL to help you troubleshoot the error when you slam into it... you are
simply informed that a QSO was rejected)

Hope this helps,

-larry
