[Dx4win] How to xmit PSK off frequency

You will readily see that I'm pretty
much of a PSK newbie but have worked a few dx stations and am learning.

I'm trying to learn how to transmit PSK off frequency to satisfy DX stations
that don't want calls on their own frequency.

Unsetting Options | TX | Net and CW Control allow me to change the
transmit freqency _slightly_ but not enough.

For example at an Rx freq of 1340 I can go to a Tx freq of about 1390
which is only an offset of 50 hz if my sums are correct.
That's not enough to satisfy the DX request for "split".

What does "CW Control" mean and do? I understand "Net" just keeps
the Tx freq the same as Rx but have no idea what "CW Control" does.
At the moment both are unchecked when trying to split.

Is my method of operation correct for PSK?
I open the PSK window in DX4Win, set the freq on 20 metera to 14.170, tune with the
mouse by clicking on likely waterfall signals. A lot of DX seems to be too weak to get solid copy.

Is there any time I should be turning the Rx knob on the rig?
When a DX is spotted at lets say 14.171.8 do I _still_ set the Rx to 14.170?
What is the reasonable range of freqs in the Rx freq window to get solid copy?

Using a Yaesu Mark V and Rigblaster.
I'd appreciate any advice or places to go for information.
