Which, if you feel strongly about it, really should be discussed with the 
program's author.  I think the current design is really quite elegant, 
allowing a lot of flexibility in making the country database (and thereby, 
the credit for countries worked, confirmed and checked) track with changes 
in the status of countries and individual callsigns.
