Hi Cort, being under somewhat of the same practice as PY2TNT I thought I'd
send a post. When I say somewhat I mean that preemptive QSLing through the
bureau is so much easier than awaiting cards from the other station and
replying. While just becoming active again in the contesting arena I am
finding myself working thousands of DX stations through the contest season.
DX4WIN comes in so handy because it has the ability to import my ADIF file
from a contest program and then I have it print QSL labels for any DX
station who has not gotten a card from me on any given new band/mode
combination. As you stated, why would someone need 5 10m SSB cards from the
same station? I'm not interested in spending money on sending cards over and
over again for the same band/mode either. This helps because when I get the
bureau envelopes most of the cards included are from stations for whom my
card(s) has gone out months before and I have nothing more to do than just
marked confirmed for the QSO in DX4WIN.
You may not want to send cards like myself, it gets a little time consuming
after a contest or two have passed, but it saves me time from replying to
incoming bureau envelopes.

A big thanks to Bob Applegate, Pete Smith, WA9ALS, Bill-W7TVF, Jim Reisert,
K9LA, Garry Shapiro, Shelby Summerville, Roy Dancy and George Beasley for
all of your comments and ideas on my qsl problem. Yes I keep the "same call"
window open and that's how I realized how many cards were going out to the
same folks over and over. This morning I received a big flat rate envelope
from the bureau with another 400 or so cards. I just finished 6# so wasn't
to pleased to see this. The first wad that I picked out and looked through
had 5.. FIVE.. cards from PY2TNT all for qsos on 10 meters. I looked at the
log and I have already sent him 2 for this band. My policy as of today is no
more cards for same band/ same mode already sent before. I just wish that
there was a web site or someplace to post qsling practices for contesters or
whoever. I also am thinking about sending this on to the NCJ journal for
some discussion! Thanks again for all of your ideas.. 73's Cort
