I keyed in all of my paper logs in EXCEL when I bought DX4WIN as it was easy
to manipulate the data to get all of the notes, frequencies, etc. I set the
typeface to courier new to get a constant width and then set all of the
columns to auto width. I had to actually create two logs, one for cw a and
one for phone to get the RST to work correctly. Export the logs in comma
deliminated format, import in WORD and then export in .prn format. I then
built a filter to exactly match my columns with DX4WIN and imported all of
the qsos. Watch the errors during the import to tell you where you have
problems in your filter. The entire process takes about 15 minutes if you
have to do it over 3 or 4 times.

Subject: [Dx4win] Importing dBase logs
I have tried a couple of times to import logs from Electronic 2nd Op version
4.04. Logs are stored in a dBase 4 format and therefore I have easily
gotten
the log file of about 10,000 records into Excel and can manipulate it there,
etc. Is there any way to import Excel directly into DX4WIN?? Thanks in
advance for any help...
