[Dx4win] State override problem

I am new to DX4WIN, so this is something that I am probably doing =
incorrectly.

I have a call KL0JR/0 who is in North Dakota, when I try to log the =
contact it puts him in Alaska.  I put ND in the state box and the program =
erases the ND and puts AL and changes the zone back to 1.

How do I log this correctly or override this behaviour?
