Ramn & others,
For the record MMTTY is not included in the DX4WIN install software because
the AUTHOR of MMTTY JE3HHT doesn't allow this. See his WebPages "Commercial
Programs are not allowed to include this file", But can be downloaded and
used FREE by any HAMRADIO station.
Here is the link where you can find it
http://www.qsl.net/mmhamsoft/mmtty/index.html
Linking it to DX4WIN is done in a few minutes
**** WINDOWS 98 and previous OS - version USERS ****
**** WINDOWS 2000 and WINDOWS XP **** see below (much easier only 1 PC)
DX4WIN "rttywindow"(terminalmode) and MMTTY1.61b (TNC EMULATION) or upgrades
can work together if you have 2 computers.
HOW TO IS VERY SIMPLE.
PC1 = Run DX4WIN with RTTY enabled on Com=X (free serialport on PC1)
Setup DX4WIN
Preferences|Tab = RTTY
Type = REGULAR
Com = free serial port
Baud Rate = 9600
Flow Control = RTS/CTS
Data/Parity = 8 bits/no parity
Options = Always in Immediate mode and Show function keys is marked
Save changes and exit
PC2 = Run MMTTY1.61b (or later release) setup for TNC-EMULATION on COM=Y
Setup MMTTY
"TAB OPTIONS"
Setup TNC emulation
Port = free serial port on PC2
Baud = 9600
Data length = 8 bits
Stop = 1 bit
Parity = None
flow control = CTS
TNC type = TNC241
Local echo = After Sending
Stay on Top or Disable Window depends on your own choice
"TAB SETUP MMTTY"
Under TX you can choice another (free) port for PTT (can be the one you use
for the rigcontrol)
Under Misc you can select the different TX port possibilities (sound or COM
or combo)
Connect COM = X (PC1) To COM = Y(PC2) With a NULL MODEM CABLE and all is
done.
Null modem cable wiring without handshaking

DB9comX pin3 ------- pin2 DB9comY
DB9comX pin5 ------- pin5 DB9comY
Null modem cable wiring with full handshaking
DB9comX pin2 ------- pin3 DB9comY
DB9comX pin3 ------- pin2 DB9comY
DB9comX pin4 ------- pin6 DB9comY
DB9comX pin5 ------- pin5 DB9comY
DB9comX pin6 ------- pin4 DB9comY

and you push F1
**** WINDOWS 2000 and WINDOWS XP **** users.
You don't need 2 computers because there is a small SERIAL PORT EMULATION
program available and it's ALSO FREE on http://www.mixw.net/related.htm
All is explained in the README.TXT
This driver emulates two serial ports and provides communication between
them under Windows 2000/XP.
Windows 2000 and XP (nearly the same) :
=============================
Installing the driver
1. Open Control Panel
2. Run "Add/Remove Hardware"
3. At "Welcome to Add/Remove hardware" screen, click "Next"
4. Select "Add/Troubleshoot a device and click "Next"
5. Wait
6. In Devices box, select "Add a new device", click "Next"
7. Select "No, I want to select the hardware from a list" and click "Next"
8. From Hardware types list, select "Multi-port serial adapters" and click
"Next"

WARNING: Choosing ports which already exist may cause driver conflicts!
8. FOR DX4WIN DON'T GO HIGHER THEN COM8
9. Click OK and reboot the computer
10. Emulated ports DO NOT appear under "Ports (COM & LPT)" in Control Panel
Setup RTTY under DX4WIN
Preferences|Tab = RTTY
Type = REGULAR
Com = choose the first emulated serial port you setup in MixW
Com 8 is max allowed number for DX4WIN (I took COM=7)
Baud Rate = 9600
Flow Control = RTS/CTS
Data/Parity = 8 bits/no parity
Options = Always in Immediate mode and Show function keys is marked
Save changes and exit
Setup MMTTY
"TAB OPTIONS"
Setup TNC emulation
Port = choose the second emulated serial port you setup in MixW
Com 8 is also max allowed number for MMTTY (I took COM=8)
Baud = 9600
Data length = 8 bits
Stop = 1 bit
Parity = None
flow control = CTS
TNC type = TNC241
Local echo = After Sending
Stay on Top or Disable Window depends on your own choice
"TAB SETUP MMTTY"
Under Tx you can choice another (free) port for PTT (can be the one you use
for the rigcontrol)
Under Misc you can select the different TX port possibilities (sound or COM
or combo)
RUNNING both & editing FUNCTIONKEYS are explained above.
When I find some time I will put all this INFO on my WebPages.
Maybe early but for all DX4WINNERS HAPPY SEASON GREETINGS.
