VP8SGI SOUTH GEORGIA ISLANDS DXPEDITION NEWS (Update 1200z, January 28th)...
  They had a windy day, 60 knot, and some antennas fallen
down but they were able to fix damaged antennas.
 
  VP8SGI manager, KU9C, will not be able to change log at this

VP8SGI SOUTH GEORGIA ISLANDS DXPEDITION NEWS (Update February 3rd)...
  Today is day six on South Georgia Is. VP8SGI will do QRT at sunrise
on February 8th.
  They are experiencing a G1 geomagnetic storm. This is greatly impacting
the higher bands. However, VP8SGI team will continue to push forward.
  The weather continues to be cold and windy. It is snowing and their
noise level is higher than usual.
  Tonight they will continue their major effort on the low bands including
160 meters.
  They are planning to be QRV on 17 meters SSB during next Sunday for
those that need an ATNO contact with VP8SGI.
  Due the difficult is being for VK and ZL stations to work South Georgia
on RTTY on 15 and 30 meters, tomorrow from 09:30 to 12:30z they will be
on 14.080 RTTY listening up only for VK/ZL and Oceania stations.
  Today they will try again on six meters. Yesterday, EA3GP was able to
listen VP8SGI signal on 50.110 SSB. Probably today they will try on 50.110
CW aronud 16:00 to 18:00z and once again around 20:00 to 22:00z. Due they
have not a beacon system, I will try to post on DX Cluster each time they
will be calling CQ.
  They are working very hard to work everyone and they hope to see you in

VP8SGI SOUTH GEORGIA ISLANDS DXPEDITION NEWS (Update 1530z, February 4th)...
  Right now, VP8SGI team is working on tents and antennas
repairs. Due to the strong winds, they have lost two masts.
Tri-bander antennas are on the ground and Six meters antenna
mast will be used to rise one of the tri-bander.
  After antenna works, they will be again on the air pushing hard
to get everyone in the log.
N6PSE will try on six meters SSB today if he finally is
able to find a pipe where to install 6 meters antenna.

VP8SGI SOUTH GEORGIA ISLANDS DXPEDITION NEWS (Update 1615z, February 5th)...
Received form Paul, N6PSE at 16:15z: 
 "Today is day 8 at VP8SGI. We are pushing forward to our goal of 80,000
contacts from South Georgia Islands.  The ten and twelve meter bands are
very good today.
  Our biggest challenges are the high winds which are destroying our
antennas and tent and the many out of turn callers that continually call
while we are trying to work others.
  We are particularly frustrated by those EU callers that continue to
call as we are trying to work to Asia/Japan.
  Please let?s all show our best Ham Spirit over the next three days so
that everyone has a chance to work VP8SGI.
  On Sunday, we will be seeking ATNO contacts on 17 meters SSB. We will
QRT on Monday morning.
  Best wishes from the Intrepid-DX Group VP8 Team."

     At this point, I want to remember to everybody that VP8 team members
left their homes past January 7th, and they expect to be back at home
around February 22th. More than 45 days out of home, working and risking
their lives in one of the hardest places of the World, trying to give
us three new DXCC countries, two of them in the highest part on the most
wanted list, in a project that exceeds 215.000$. So please, lets help
them to reach their aim following operator instructions and respecting
other callers.

VP8SGI SOUTH GEORGIA ISLANDS DXPEDITION NEWS (Update February 6th)...
  Today I was in contact with N6PSE from early morning. We exchanged a
lot of messages while they are in the middle of a big storm with high
winds and snow.  It seems that South Georgia weather does not want to
give them a rest.
  ATNO (all time new one) plans are going to change due propagation is
shifting day to day. Tomorrow, February 7th, they will be asking for ATNO
contacts time to time on any band so please, follow operator instructions
and respect to those for whom VP8SGI is still an All Time New One.
  We did not speak about 6 meters but plans for this band is still the
same, if there is an available radio during his afternoon-evening, Paul
will call me via Iridium Satellite few minutes before to start to call
on 50.110 MHz so check DX Cluster Network spots.
  I asked them for an earlier 160 meters activity looking to Western
Europe and also to take profit of Grey Line with East Coast and it seems
they are going to be on the Top Band earlier than previous days.
  In my last press release, I stated that this project exceeds $215.000.
Well, VP8 project budget is $425.000, team members contributed with
$210.000. 
  They are very grateful to all sponsors and individual donors who will
help them to cover remaining $215.000.

3XY, GUINEA (Press Release). Members of the Italian DXpedition Team will
be active as 3XY1T from the Los Islands (AF-051, WW Loc. IJ39cl) between
February 18th and March 4th. The latest news was sent out by the 3XY1T
Team: Everything is ready as planned for our departure on February 17th,
2016. We anticipate arriving at Los Island (AF-051) in the morning of
Thursday 18th. The island does not have a power grid; our resort has a
generator operating only during the night. We rented two generators for
daylight operations; as a consequence, there might be occasional breaks
for the maintenance of this equipment.
  We received several requests for RTTY activity. In order to offer such
a ?mode new one? to as many OMs as possible, we shall concentrate our
RTTY operations on a single band, i.e. 15m.
  In analyzing statistical data, we noticed that there is a high demand
for this country in VK/ZL. These stations are invited to use the cluster
to warn us of possible openings.
  Long-path openings to Japan will be closely monitored, and we suggest
these stations to make use of propagation forecasts to optimize their
chances.
  We plan to have, as usual, our real-time online Log available via
internet, with uploads every minute (barring connection problems). It
can be accessed at the address <http://win.i2ysb.com/logonline>.
  Also, the online QSL request (OQRS) will be active as from the very
first QSO. We advise to check the time/date of the latest online update,
as shown on the Log entry page, before repeating a QSO.
  Specific requests should be addressed ONLY to our pilot stations,
Arturo/IK7JWY and Sergio/IK0FTA (for the 6m band). The pilot stations
can check and correct possible Log errors.
  During the DXpedition do NOT send mail to I2YSB or other Team members,
such messages will not be answered.

4S, SRI LANKA. A German team will be active as 4S7GWG and 4S7RTG from
Amal Villa, Bentota, Sri Lanka (AS-003, NJ06AJ), in the southwest part
of the island between March 2-18th. Operators mentioned are YL Heidi/
DK1MA, Sid/DM2AYO, Rolf/DL7VEE, Dietmar/DL2HWA, Werner/DJ9KH, Georg/DL4SVA,
Norbert/DL2RNS, Guenter/DL2AWG, Klaus/DK1AX and Juergen/DL3HRH. Activity
will be holiday style on 40-6 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY with two
stations on the air. Equipment will be 2x K3, KPA 500 and Expert 1k3.
Antennas will be Spiderbeams and Verticals. Suggested frequencies are:
  CW   - 7026, 10119, 14026, 18086, 21026, 24906 and 28026 kHz
  SSB  - 7095/7182, 14210, 21275, 24955 and 28465 kHz
  RTTY - 7046, 10137, 14090, 18099, 21090, 24918 and 28090 kHz

5V, TOGO (Update). Wim, ON6DX, will once again be active as 5V7TH from
Agbodrafo, a town in southern Togo, between February 11-23rd. Wim will
arrive in Lom?, the capital of Togo, on February 9th. He states that this
will be a one operator DXpedition. Activity will take place during his
local mornings and evenings as much as possible. Operation will be on
160-6 meters, including 30/17/12 meters) using CW, SSB and RTTY. Since
his announcement, Wim has received many e-mails asking him to do top
bands. He states, "Due to high demand for 5V7 on the top bands, I am
going to take a 80m vertical and a 160m sloper with me. Only if I can
find enough space to put them up. I will do 80 and 160 as well. CW only."

6D, MEXICO (Special Event). Members of the Federacion Mexicana de Radio
Experimentadores (FMRE) will use the special callsign 6D0F between February
11-18th, during the "Apostolic Journey of Pope Francis to Mexico". Operators
will be operating from the states of Michoacan, Chiapas, Chihuahua, Estado
de Mexico and the Mexico City. QSL via XE1LM.

6Y, JAMAICA. Masato, JA0RQV, will be active as 6Y5/JA0RQV mainly from the
Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica (NA-097), for 2 months starting February 21st
through April 17th. Activity will be mostly on the weekend and spare time
during his local time as he is on a business trip. Operations will be on
160-10 meters using CW and SSB. Equipment is a IC7000 (100w) into a LW or
Vertical. He states that if the situation allows, he might stay and operate
from the station of Josh, 6Y5WJ, in St. Elizabeth and to be a Single-Op
entry in the JIDX CW Contest (April 9-10th). QSL via M0OXO (ORQS) or LoTW.

7P, LESOTHO (Update/Reminder). Members of F6KOP Amateur Radio Club will
be active as 7P8C from the Maseru District in Lesotho between February
8-17th. Activity will be on 160-6 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY, with 5
stations on the air. QSL via F5GSJ, direct, by the Bureau, OQRS via F5GSJ.
NO eQSL. Web page still has not been announced.

CE0Y, EASTER ISLAND (Reminder). Coming off of his Moorea Island (OC-046),
French Polynesia, activity as FO/W7YAQ, look for Bob, W7YAQ, to be active
as CE0Y/W7YAQ from Easter Island (SA-001) between February 10-14th.
Activity will be holiday style on 40-15 meters using CW and RTTY. Equip-
ment will be an Elecraft K3 into a vertical antenna. QSL via LoTW.

CORRECTION TO OPDX.1251. Under "DXCC APPROVED OPERATION" the following

and will be active as D3YL from Saurimo, Angola. No QSNs have been reported

D4, CAPE VERDE. Operator Girts, YL2KL, will once again active as D4C.
Activity will be during the ARRL DX CW Contest (February 20-21st) as a

DX MARATHON PLAQUES (Press Release). CQ Magazine's annual DX Marathon
contest is proud to announce the addition of two new Plaques.
  As interest and participation in the DX Marathon grows, there has been
a significant increase in log submissions. Total logs received for the
2015 edition were up 29% over 2014. A large part of that growth has been
in the CW only category. As a result, the DX Marathon is pleased to
announce the addition of Plaques for the Highest CW score in North America
and the highest CW score in Europe. Previously, those high scores received
certificates. A complete listing of available plaques and certificates is

E5, SOUTH COOK ISLANDS (Update). Roly, ZL1BQD, was active as E51RR (not
E51RJR as announced earlier) from Rarotonga Island (EU-013) and should be
going QRT by the time you read this (February 7th). QSL via his home
callsign.

E5, SOUTH COOK ISLANDS. John, AI6Y, will be active as E51XYZ from Rarotonga
Island (OC-013) between May 23-28th. Activity will be on 40-10 meters
(conditions permitting), operating portable and mobile on all modes and
limited to 100w. He will post a schedule, if time permits, on QRZ.com. 
Log will be uploaded to LoTW, eQSL and QRZ.com while on the island.

EP, IRAN. Tom, K8CX, informs OPDX that he worked EP7AHN the morning on
February 2nd, at 1242z on 14200 kHz in the Iranian contest. He was very
surprised to hear a U.S. station answer him. He has provided a sound clip

He also heard EP2LSH on 14040 kHz around the same time, but he couldn't
get through the EU pileup. OPDX checked the QSNs on the DXCluster and
there seems to be plenty of activity from Iran now. Other EP stations
spotted were: EP2LMA (20/15m SSB), EP2LSH (15m CW), EP3MS (40/20m SSB),
EP7AHN (40/20m SSB) and EP4HR(/B) (40/20m CW/PSK31/Beacon).

FM/TO5, MARTINIQUE (NA-107). Albert, F5VHJ, will once again be active as
TO5A from FM5BH's QTH during the ARRL DX SSB Contest (March 5-6th) as a
Single-Op/All-Band entry. QSL with SASE to WA6WPG. All others by F5VHJ,
LoTW and REF Bureau. Logs will be uploaded to LoTW. An OQRS will be
available via ClubLog. Outside of the contest Albert will be signing

IOTA NEWS..............
  AF-004.  Mike, DG5LAC, will once again be active as EA8/DG5LAC from
           Fuerteventura Island (DIE S-006, WLOTA 0883, WWFF EAFF-191)
           between May 28th and June 10th. Activity will be on 40-10
           meters using SSB with 100 watts. QSL via DG5LAC, direct or
           by the Bureau. Log will be upload to LoTW, eQSL and WWFF.

  AS-129.  Zhao, BD7IHN, will be active as B7/BD7IHN from Nan Ao Island
           between February 13-19th. Activity will be limited mostly
           during his morning and early evening on 30/20 meters using
           mainly CW with some SSB. QSL via BD7IHN. Log will be uploaded 
           to ClubLog.

  OC-165.  Operators Wat/9M8WAT, Allpa/9M8ADX and Dennis/9W8DEN will be
           active as 9M8RC from Satang Besar between April 30th and May
           2nd. QSL via 9M8WAT direct. 

  SA-088.  Operators Fabio/PP5BZ, Marcelo/PP5BK, Jose/PU5ATX, Claudio/PY3OZ,
           Roni/PY5ZB and Valnei/PY5ZW will be active as ZX5B from Batuta
           Island between April 21-24th. This will be a first time acti-
           vation. Activity will be on 40-6 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY.
           QSL via PP5BZ.

  SA-100.  It has been announced that Nando, IT9YRE, will activate Pajaros
           Islands off the coast of Chile which has never bee activated
           before. Look for more details to be forthcoming.

JD1, MINAMI TORISHIMA. Take, JG8NQJ, will once again be active as JG8NQJ/JD1
from Marcus Island in the Minami Torishima (OC-073, JCG 10007) group between
mid-March until mid-May. He is usually there to work on the island's weather
station. Activity will be limited to his spare time. He will be mainly on
17 meters but also on 20/15/12/10/6 meters CW. QSL via JA8CJY, by the Bureau
or direct to: Susumu 'Sin' Sanada, 5-17, 5-4, Shin-Ei, Toyohira, Sapporo 004,

JD1, OGASAWARA. Nobuaki, JA0JHQ, will once again (5th time) be active as
JD1BOW from Chichijima Island (AS-031) between February 13-22nd. Activity
will be on 160-6 meters using CW and the Digital modes. His main purpose
is to operate 160m CW and Digital Modes (RTTY, PSK31) on 40m or 15m. It
is his first time to operate on RTTY for this operation (he now has con-
fidence). Equipment will be a a TS-480HX (200w on HF, 100w on 6m) into a
Micro-vertical or Long-wire for 1.9 MHz. QSL via his home callsign, direct

JD1, OGASAWARA. Masaru, JE4SMQ, will once again to be active as JD1BMT
from Chichijima Island (AS-031), Ogasawara, between February 19-22nd.

KH0, MARIANA ISLANDS (Special Event). Look for special event station N0J
to be active from Tinian's Hot Peppper Festival between February 10-15th.
Activity/operators will be by Radio Space Club of Tinian (NH0J) and Mariana
Intrepid Contest Club (AH0K). Activity will be on 80-10 meters using CW
(by OH7WV between Feb. 11-15th) and SSB (SSB by JA1NVF between Feb.
10-15th), some focus on 30m. They will not operate 24 hours a day.

LU/Z, SOUTH SHETLAND ISLANDS. The Radio Club Argentino (RCA), IARU National
MS, are pleased to announces that it will be active from Carlini Base,
King George Island, South Shetland Island (AN-010). Operation is scheduled
between February 15th to early March. Operators Marcelo/LU1AET and Carlos/
LU1BCE will put on the air the callsign LU1ZI. Activity is planned to have
two stations on 80-10 meters using CW, SSB and the Digital modes. Another

SOUTH AMERICAN LIGHTHOUSE WEEKEND. The 8th South American Lighthouse

VK0EK HEARD ISLAND NEWS. In a press release dated February 1st by Rich,
KY6R, reports: In exactly one month, the "Advance VK0EK Team" will leave
for Cape Town, South Africa. They will check in with our shipping agent
and local Cape Town team and process the arrival of our container. The
Braveheart will arrive soon after this team arrives. The excitement is
building and we are making last minute preparations before the team starts
their epic journey.
 -- Also reported on February 5th: The container carrying the equipment
    for the expedition has arrived in Cape Town, South Africa, and has
    been put into storage awaiting arrival of the advance team March 3.
    The vessel Braveheart will arrive March 5, while the full team will
    arrive March 7. We will sail for Heard Island March 10, weather per-
    mitting, of course!
      In addition, we are very appreciative of our South Africa team:
    Paul ZA1A, Pierre ZS1HF, Malcolm ZS6MAL, Sue ZS1AFR, and Tom ZS1AFS.

HF bands using only CW with 100 watts into a vertical and wire antennas.

VP8SGI SOUTH GEORGIA ISLAND DXPEDITION NEWS. Members of the Intrepid-DX
Group are now QRT as VP8SGI from South Georgia Island due to a big storm
early Sunday morning. Everybody is OK and now they are waiting a weather
change to dismount and pack everything. Last log file will be uploaded
from Stanley, Falkland Islands. This is actually a day early because they
stated/planned earlier in the week that they would go QRT at sunrise on
February 8th. During the past week (if you followed the special OPDX
 Bulletins), the VP8SGI team battled stormy weather conditions with high
winds and snow which damaged their antennas and tents. This led to a
stoppage of operations for several hours to make repairs. We must also
mention some of the bad behavioral activities and DXing practices by
individuals on the air which slowed down and hindered the VP8SGI operators
from working many more stations.

on Sunday [edited]: Yesterday we reached 30000 QSOs in the log, but we
had to face a big storm and several antennas have been damaged by the
heavy wind. We are currently repairing 2 spiderbeams... Working low bands
is quite difficult as we have sometimes up to S9 of QRN. We'll try our

8P, BARBADOS. Tom, W2SC, will once again be active as 8P5A during the
ARRL International DX CW Contest (February 20-21st) as Single-Op/All-

A3, TONGA (Update). Madison, W5MJ, reports on the latest release for their
DXpedition to Tonga February 18-28th: "The A35T DXpedition is now packed
up and ready to go. We will have three stations running Elecraft K3
transceivers with a KX3 as a backup radio, two Elecraft KPA500 amps,
an Expert Amp 1.3, three KIO hex beams 20 through 6, and four Spider-
poles for the lower frequencies. We anticipate having our stations on
160-30 meters during night hours, and the hex beams for 20-6 meters
during daylight hours. We hope to be able to provide Qs on 160 to EU
to fill the great need for that band. Our operation is scheduled for
February 18-28th, not the 24th as previously reported. Even though K5NA
and K5DU will be tending to a family emergency and not able to make the
trip, we hope to have guest op Hiro, A31MM, who recently moved to Tonga,
joining us during our stay."

ADDED NOTE ABOUT SPECIAL AAW SPAIN STATIONS: Jos?, EA5FL, informs that
a Special Radio Award will be issued by URE to those Hams/SWLs who will
work (or hear) the Spanish Special Event stations during the 13th AAW.
Look for the following Spanish AAW stations: AO3ANT (WAP-266), AO4HAG
(WAP-242), AO5WAP (WAP-272), EG1PAA (WAP-273), EG5WAP (WAP-268) and EH5WAP

All 6 stations will have info about the Award on QRZ.com. The Spanish
Special Event stations will be active on the HF bands. The Special Diploma
will be sent free of charge to all participants that fulfill the required
number of contacts on each of the four categories (Bronze, Silver, Gold

award by E-mail for their personalized Diploma to the Award Manager EA5DM

but SWLs must send a list. Due date to apply for the Award is March 15th,

AH2, GUAM. Members of the Guam Contest Club will be active as AH2R during
the ARRL DX CW Contest (February 20-21st) as a Multi-Single entry. Operators

C6, BAHAMAS (Canceled). Chris, NX4N (C6AWW), had to cancel his ARRL DX
CW Contest operation from Freeport, Bahamas (NA-080, Grid FL06qm), between
February 16-23rd, due to "some family issues" that arised.

CW, URUGUAY (LH Op). Members of the Radio Club Uruguayo will be active
as CW1?C from the Fortaleza del Cerro lighthouse (?ARLHS URU-009, Grid
SQ. GF15UC) between February 1?9?-?21st, during the International South
American? Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend. Activity will be on 40-10 meters
as well as 2 meters and 70 cm using CW, SSB and the Digital modes. They
will have at least three stations on the air. QSL via CX1AA, by the

Uruguay (w/SAE and one new IRC or 2 green stamps).

DU, PHILIPPINES (IOTA Op). Bodo, DF8DX, is planning to activate three
IOTA Groups in the Philippines during April. His tentative schedule is:
    April  9-14th -- Palawan Island (OC-128); callsign DU1WQY/1
    April 14-19th -- Mindanao Island (OC-130); callsign DU1WQY/8
    April 19-24th -- Luzon Island (OC-042); callsign DU1WQY
  Activity usually will be on 40-10 meters using 100 watts into a vertical

E5, SOUTH COOK ISLANDS. Don, VE7AQA, will be active as E51AQA from Raro-
tonga Island (OC-013) between March 4-19th. Activity will be holiday
style on the HF bands using SSB. QSL via VE7AQA.

ET, ETHIOPIA (Update). The Ukrainian operators continue to be active as
ET7L from the INSA Radio Club in Mekanisa, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Activity
will be limited due to their work duties, but they are expected to be active
for at least 2-4 months. Most of their activity has been on 30/17/15/12
meters using CW and SSB, but the operators are now active on 160/80/40
meters. Operators are members of UT7L Contest Club (Yarik/UW7LL and
Andy/UR4LRQ). Logs will be uploaded daily on Clublog; OQRS will be later.
LoTW, as usual, after the end of operation. QSL Manager is US0LW. The

FG, GUADELOUPE. Alex, IW5ELA, will be active as FG/IW5ELA from Pointe des
Chateaux, St. Francois, between February 28th and March 9th. Activity will
be holiday style on the HF bands using mainly CW with some SSB. His equip-
ment will be a FT857 with 100w into a vertical antenna. Every contact
will be confirmed by Bureau, no QSL required.

FG, GUADELOUPE. Philippe, F1DUZ, will be active as FG4KH from Guadeloupe
(NA-102) between February 7th and March 30th (possibly beginning of April).
Activity will be on all HF bands using SSB, with 2m EME EME on JT65B. QSL
via his home callsign.

FH, MAYOTTE (DIFO Op). Before and after his participation in the upcoming
FT4JA Juan de Nova DXpedition, team member Gil, F4FET, will be active as
FH/F4FET from Mayotte (AF-027) and a few of its DIFO islands in the lagoon
on Mayotte between March 24-25th and April 15-21st. The DIFO islands
mentioned are: Grande Terre Island (FH001), Petite Terre Island (FH002),
Zamboro Island (new one, FH003) and Choisil Island (new one, FH004).
Activity will be holiday style on 40-10 meters SSB using a K3 and a SPE
Expert 1K3 into a 40-10m groundplane and a 1 element Quad for 12/10

de Nova between March 26-28th and April 12-14th.

           attempt to activate the rare Anguilla Keys, part of the Cay
           Sal Bank Group, possibly on Thursday. He will leave from
           Georgetown, Bahamas, on Tuesday, February 16th. He states
           that he will be on "20m or higher and as close to the IOTA

  OC-022.  Members of Lufthansa Amateur Radio Club (LARC) of Frankfurt
           will be active as YB9/homecall from Bali Island between February
           22nd and March 2nd. Operators mentioned are Bernd/DK7TF, Bernd/
           DF1FF and J?rgen/DH6ICE. This will be a 100w DXpedition,
           focusing on SSB and the Digital modes (JT65 including). QSL

  SA-045.  [Edited Press Release] Renato Araujo, PY8WW, reports, "I am
           part of a team that is always on the air from different IOTAs
           in northern Brazil. We are planning an expedition probably in
           April 2016, the expedition will be to Maraca Island SA-045.
           Lately, Brazil is experiencing a severe economic crisis, where
           our currency is broadly undervalued against the dollar, imports
           of equipment has become highly expensive, our team is in need
           of band pass filters as the authorization of forest organ will
           be for a short time on the island, so we have to optimize two
           or three radio stations on the air at the same time. If you
           are interested in donating some filters please contact us. The
           filters needed are for the 10-15-20-40 bands. If you can get
           the message out to amateurs in America I would be very grateful."

J3, GRENADA. Bob, G3PJT, will once again be active as J34G from Grenada
(NA-024, WLOTA 0718) between March 10-24th. Activity will be holiday style
on 80-10 meters, mainly CW, using a K2 w/100 watts and vertical antennas.
He plans to also be in the RSGB's Commonwealth Contest (March 12-13th).

VK0EK DXPEDITION NEWS (Heard Island Expedition Newsletter Vol. 2 No. 2).
  The current Heard Island Expedition Newsletter (Vol. 2, No. 2 -- dated
February 11th) is now out. Individuals may have already received this
because they subscribed to it, or they made a donation to the expedition,
or they are a team member or a corporate sponsor, or Bob, KK6EK, just
happens to know you and think you would like to have it. This issue goes

VP5/VQ5E, TURKS AND CAICOS. Operators Clint/W9AV and Quent/W6RI will

(March 26-27th). All QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW. Requests for paper

VP8, FALKLAND ISLANDS. Gerard, G3WIP/VK4BGL, will be active as VP8PDP
from Falkland Islands (SA-002) between February 15th and April 1st. He
will be there working as a doctor. Activity will be limited when he is
not working. Watch for operations on 20/17/15/10 meters using a FT-897D.
QSL via G3WIP by the RSGB Bureau.

VP8, FALKLAND ISLANDS. The VP8STI/VP8SGI team is now on the Falkland
Islands (SA-002) as February 12th. David, K3LP, was heard signing as
VP8DRC on 20m SSB February 12-13th. As this was being written, the team
is expected to hit the air waves sometime late Sunday or Monday as VP8IDX.
It was reported on Thursday that they would operate for a week as VP8IDX
with simple antennas but aren't planning on unloading and setting up all
the DXpedition antennas and equipment used on S. Sandwich and S. Georgia.
The word is that they plan to focus on 160 and 80 meters. QSL VP8IDX via
N2OO direct, ClubLog's OQRS or LoTW.

VP8SGI SOUTH GEORGIA ISLAND DXPEDITION WRAP-UP. Members of the Intrepid-DX
Group went QRT as VP8SGI from South Georgia Island and went back to the
Braveheart for security reasons due to a big storm last Sunday morning
February 7th. After the storm calmed down, the VP8SGI team was able to
go back to Husvik Bay and collect all their gear during the Sunday after-
noon. Reports indicate that David, K3LP, stated, "Weather on South Georgia
was terrible with winds up to 100 mph near the end." The team has left
the South Georgia Island area and is now active from the Falkland Islands
(see details above).
  The full VP8SGI log was uploaded and the OQRS was turned on. For VP8SGI

XW, LAOS. Makoto, JA7FGI, will be active as XW7FG from Vientiane between

XZ, MYANMAR (Press Release). Update on plans for Myanmar IOTA Dxpedition
2016 -- The original proposed dates for this Dxpedition were Feb/March
or April/May. Since the original announcement there has been a general
election in Myanmar and the new government will be installed in March.
Licensing will be delayed until the new administration completes the
transition.
  We are in touch with the authorities. Our documents are with the ad-
ministration. We have good liaison and we have in territory help to
monitor and progress our license application.
  The DXpedition will be delayed until after the summer period to allow
plenty of time for licensing and for HF conditions to be as favorable
as possible.

3V, TUNISIA. SWL Ashraf "Ash", 3V4-002 (KF5EYY), will once again be active
as 3V8SS from the "Radio Club Station of Tunisian Scouts" in Sousse, during
the ARRL International DX CW Contest (February 20-21st) as a Single-Op/All-

4W, TIMOR LESTE. Dick, DJ2EH, Dick, is now active as 4W/DJ2EH. The length
of his stay is unknown at this time. Activity has been on 160/80/40/30/
20/17/15/12/10 meters using CW only. QSL via his home callsign.

5W, SAMOA. Roly, ZL1BQD, is now active as 5W0RR until February 23rd.
Activity will be limited depending on his workload. Activity will be
on 80-10 meters using mostly JT65 with some CW. He uses a KX3 with 10

5X, UGANDA. Alan, G3XAQ, will once again be active as 5X1XA from a new
QTH between March 4-16th. Activity is usually on 80-10 meters CW only,
but his primary focus will be on the RSGB Commonwealth (BERU) Contest

A3, TONGA. Hiro, JA6WFM, who will be i Tonga for the next two years,
will be active as A31MM during the ARRL DX CW Contest (February 20-21st)

A31T TONGA DXPEDITION NEWS. Tony, K2SG, A31T Pilot, reports on Friday:
The team on Tonga is encountering some bad weather from Cyclone Winston.
Winds are 40+ knots, too high to get 160/80 verticals up.

station located on Guam Island until February 22nd. Activity will be on

as C92CC and C91IJ, respectively, from Mozambique between February 28th
and March 7th. Activity will be on the HF bands but with focus on the

CY9C, ST. PAUL ISLAND. With the CY9C St. Paul Island DXpedition coming

D2, ANGOLA. Paulo, CT1ITE, is now active as D2/CT1ITE from Luanda until
the end of March. Activity will be limited to spare time on 80-10 meters
(possibly 160m) using CW and SSB. QSL via his home callsign.

EF8, CANARY ISLANDS. Juan, EA8RM (ex-EA8CAC), will be active as EF8R
during the ARRL DX CW Contest (February 20-21st) as a Single-Op/All-
Band/Low-Power entry. QSL via LoTW or EB7DX.

HP, PANAMA. Robby, AC2OV/VY2SS, currently on assignment and living in
Volcan in the Chiriqui Province, is now active as HP3/VY2SS. Activity
has been on 40-6 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY. He states that he is
putting up a Yagi as well as dipoles for lower bands. QSL via AC2OV

HU, EL SALVADOR. Members of the "Club de Radioaficionados de El Salvador"
(C.R.A.S.) in San Salvador will be active as HU1A during the CQWW WPX SSB
Contest (March 29-30th) as a Multi-Single entry. QSL via YS1GMV. Operators

IOTA NEWS..............
  AS-133.  Jacek, SP5APW, will be active as XU7AKC from Rong Sanloem
           Island between April 13-19th. No other details were provided.

  AS-142.  Members of the Russian Robinson Club (RRC) will be active as
           UE23RRC from the very remote Kambalnyy Island (Toporkov,
           RR-13-14) between August 9-14th. Operators mentioned are
           Vasily/R7AL and his XYL Anastasia/R7AL, Vasily/RA1ZZ, Alexandr/
           RA3AV and Yuri/UD0XAA. Last time this island was activated
           was in 1999. Activity will be on 40/30/20/17/15/10 meters

  AS-145.  A Group from Southern Thailand DX Club (STDXC) will be active
           as E20HHK/p from Maeo Island between March 3-5th. Operators

  AS-202.  PRESS RELEASE: On January 8, 2016, we released news of an up-
           coming IOTA DXpedition to Hawar Island AS-202NEW.
             Six weeks later we?re happy to confirm that plans are running
           smoothly and everything is now on schedule. Our callsign A91HI
           is confirmed!
             Our QTH has been carefully chosen on the North side of the
           island overlooking salt water with magnificent take-off views
           to all corners of the globe. Input 25? 43' 5? N / 50? 47' 7? E
           on Google Earth and you will see our exact QTH.
             An experienced team (7Z1OO, 9K2RR, A41OO, A61DJ, A93LT, EI5GM,
           EI9FBB & MM0NDX) led by Fawaz A92AA (team leader) will be QRV
           with 4 high power stations from 40m through 10 meters ? CW, SSB
           and DIGI. We will use a combination of SP7IDX Technology Hexbeams
           and VDAs at the water?s edge to ensure good signals into all
           Continents.
             Administration costs are very high for this expedition. No
           fewer than six different departments are required to give us
           clearance to operate amateur radio on Hawar Island. This is
           why it has taken almost 2 years for the first AS-202 activity
           to happen. Now that we have all necessary permits in hand, we

(EU-026) between July 29th and August 1st. Activity will be on the HF

KH6/KH7, HAWAII. By the time you read this, Fred, NA2U, will be operating
from Volcano on the Big Island through March 6th. He will operate as
KH6/NA2U prior to the ARRL DX CW Contest (February 20-21st) and the ARRL
DX SSB Contest (March 5-6th). In the ARRL DX CW and SSB Contests he will
operate as KH7M. QSLs for KH6/NA2U are via LoTW (preferable), or direct

NP2, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS. Fred, K9VV, will once again be active as NP2X
from the "Caribbean Friends United By Amateur Radio" Gallows Bay Club
Station on St. Croix, but this time during the ARRL DX CW Contest (February
20-21st) as a Single-Op/All-Band entry. QSL via K5WW. Look for Fred to be
active outside of the contest probably as K9VV/KP2. QSL K9VV/KP2 only
direct to K9VV.

OA, PERU. Daniel, DL5YWM, will once again be active as OA4/DL5YWM from
Lima between March 12-25th. Activity will be limited to his free time.
As in the past, Daniel may possibly travel to a different part of Peru
and be active as OA*/homecall. Activity will be holiday style on 40-6

P4, ARUBA (Update). Operators Andreas/DL5CW (P4/DL5CW), Thomas/DL5LYM 
P40XM) and  Olli/DH8BQA (P40FA) are now active from Carl's, P49V (SK),
"Cook's Radio Retreat" <http://www.p49v.com> on Aruba (SA-036) until
February 25th. The retreat is now owned by Ben Buettner, DL6RAI. The
operators are expected to be in the ARRL DX CW Contest (February 20-21st).

be active as P40L during the ARRL DX CW Contest (March 5-6th) as a Multi/2

PJ2, CURACAO (Update). Andy, W9NJY, is once again active as PJ2/W9NJY
from Curacao (SA-099, WLOTA LH-0942) until February 24th. Also, Rudy,
NF9V, will be active as PJ2/NF9V until February 23rd. Both operators
are there as team members to help put the Caribbean Contesting Consortium's
(CCC) Signal Point Station PJ2T on the air for the ARRL DX CW Contest
(February 20-21st). The other team members are Martin/K2PLF, Mal/NP2L,

V2, ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA. Bob, K0NR, is now active as V29RW from Antigua
(NA-100) until February 20th. Activity will be holiday style 40-10 meters

V7, MARSHALL ISLANDS. A few sources are reporting that Jim, AH6OY, will
be active from Majuro Island (OC-029) between March 1-7th. His callsign
is pending. He plans to participate in the ARRL DX SSB Contest (March
5-6th). "The Daily DX" states, "He'll be taking an IC-7000, and maybe
an amplifier. Two spiderpoles or a 5 band Spiderbeam will be used for
activity on 40-10 meters and possibly 80 meters for operations on SSB,
CW, RTTY and JT65." Listen for QSL instructions.

VP8, FALKLAND ISLANDS. It was announced that Friday night (February 19th)
will be the last night for the VP8STI/VP8SGI team to be active from the
Falkland Islands (SA-002). It was reported that the team was leaving to
go home on Saturday. VP8 Stations activated were VP8IDX (QSL via N2OO),
VP8DRC (QSL via N2OO), VP8KVA(QSL via DL6KVA), VP8RHF (QSL via OE1ZKC)
and VP8DXU (QSL via W7XU).

VP8, FALKLAND ISLANDS (Update/Correction). Gerard, G3WIP/VK4BGL, will be
active as VP8DPD (not VP8PDP as earlier announced) from Falkland Islands
(SA-002) until April 1st. He will be there working as a doctor. Activity
will be limited to when he is not working or spare time. Watch for oper-
ations on 20/17/15/10 meters using a FT-897D. NO QSNs have been reported
yet. QSL via G3WIP by the RSGB Bureau.

VP9, BERMUDA. Mike, G3VYI, will once again be active as G3VYI/VP9 from
Ed/VP9GE's Hamilton Parish QTH (NA-005, WLOTA 0201)on Bermuda between
March 11-15th. Activity will be holiday style on 160-10 meters using CW,
but with a focus on low bands (160/80/40 in the evenings). He will also
be in the RSGB Commonwealth (BERU) Contest (March 12-13th). QSL via his

Z8, SOUTH SUDAN. Olli, OH0XX, is now active as Z81X from Juba, South
Sudan, between February 17-22nd. Activity will be on 80-10 meters (NO
160m) on CW only. He will also be in the ARRL DX CW Contest (February

ZL7, CHATHAM ISLANDS. A press release by Don, G3BJ/G5W, states: The "6G"
team that operated from TX6G (Australs ? 2014) and E6GG (Niue ? 2015) will
be on Chatham Island from 27 October to 10 November 2016. The location
has excellent short and long path take off towards Europe where Chatham
Island is still high on the wanted list. As in previous expeditions,
operation will be 160-10m CW, SSB and RTTY, with up to four stations
active at any one time. More information, callsign details and a web
site will be available soon.

ALS 500m into a Mosley Mini 32 ASP (2 element beam 20/15/10m), Mosley

3XY, GUINEA (Update). Only a few more dates to work the members of the
Italian DXpedition Team who are active as 3XY1T from the Los Islands

8P, BARBADOS. Thomas, OE9PTI, is now active as 8P9ER from the 8P6ET's
QTH on Barbados (NA-021) until March 9th. Activity will be holiday style

8P6ET, will be active during the ARRL DX SSB Contest (March 5-6th) and
CQWW WPX CW Contest (May 28-29th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power

8Q, MALDIVES. Wolfgang, OE1MWW, will once again be active as 8Q7WK from
Kandolhu Island (AS-013) between March 2-12th. Activity will be holiday

8Q, MALDIVES. Noel, F6BGC, will be active as 8Q7NC from Thulhagiri Island,
North Male' Atoll (AS-013), between March 12-22nd. Activity will be holiday

8R, GUYANA. Hawa, DK9KX/K9KX, is now active as 8R1/K9KX. The length of
his stay is unknown at this time. Activity has been on mostly 30/17 meters

A3, TONGA. Hiro, JA6WFM, who will be i Tonga for the next two years,
will be active as A31MM during the ARRL DX SSB Contest (March 5-6th)
as a Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power entry. QSL via EA5GL or LoTW.

A9, BAHRAIN. Max, KE5JA, working in Budaiya as an oil engineer, will be
active as A93JA during the ARRL DX SSB Contest (March 5-6th) as a Single-
Op/All-Band/High-Power entry. QSL via KE5JA, direct (Texas or Bahrain),
by the U.S. Bureau or LoTW.

C9, MOZAMBIQUE (Reminder). Operators Arkady/UA4CC and Arunas/LY2IJ will
be active as C92CC and C91IJ, respectively, from Mozambique between
February 28th and March 7th. Activity will be on the HF bands but with
focus on the low bands. QSL C91CC via UA4CC, ClubLog's OQRS or LoTW.
QSL C91IJ via LY2IJ, ClubLog's OQRS or LoTW. ADDED NOTE: From Mozambique,

DXCC ON THE BIRDS. Congratulations to AMSAT Vice President of Operations
Drew Glasbrenner, KO4MA, who finally qualified for Satellite DXCC which

FO, FRENCH POLYNESIA. Bob, NH6XO, will be active as FO/NH6XO from Moorea
Island (OC-046) between March 6-11th. Acivity will focus on 40 meter SSB
during evening hours local time using a vertical on the beach. QSL direct
via his home callsign.

FS & PJ7, ST. MAARTEN AND ST. MARTIN. Luc, F5RAV, will be active as
FS/F5RAV and PJ7/F5RAV, from French Saint Martin (FS) and Dutch Sint
Maarten (PJ7) between March 24-31st. Both are IOTA NA-105. Activity will
be on 40-10 meters using SSB and PSK31. Operations will also include the
CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 26-27th) as PJ7/F5RAV. QSL both callsigns
via home callsign direct.

ET, ETHIOPIA (Update). The Ukrainian operators continue to be active as
ET7L from the INSA Radio Club in Mekanisa, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Activity
will be limited due to their work duties, but they are expected to be active
until April 12th. Most of their activity has been on 30/17/15/12 meters
using CW and SSB, but the operators are now active on 160/80/40 meters.
Operators are members of UT7L Contest Club (Yarik/UW7LL and Andy/UR4LRQ).
Logs are being uploaded daily on Clublog's OQRS. Upload to LoTW will be

FK, NEW CALEDONIA (IOTA Op). By the time you read this, operators Arnaud/
JG1XMV (FK/JG1XMV) and Yves/FK4RD will be finishing their activity on Des
Pins Island (OC-032) [last date February 29th] and moving on to Ouvea
Island (OC-033) between March 1-3rd. Activity will be on the HF bands
using 100w into a Diamond SD-330 mobile antenna. QSL FK/JG1XMV via his
home callsign direct, LoTW or eQSL. QSL FK4RD via direct.

FT4JA JUAN DE NOVA DXPEDITION NEWS (Feb. 23rd Press Release). Last month,
we reached a milestone with the shipment of our equipment by sea which
marks a real point of no return both logistical and financial support for
the project. Each element has been extensively tested in real conditions
in order to overcome any bad surprise, then conditioned to simplify to
the maximum installation. In total, a little more than 1200 kg of equip-
ment are engaged in this adventure, complemented by one conveyed by the
10 operators, almost 1.5 tons. The departure for Juan de Nova is expected

  Now that we have secured the hardware side, it is imperative to make
sure we keep the announced objectives:
   ? Provide to the greatest number a contact with Juan de Nova, especially
     for an ATNO
   ? Special attention to the hard-to-reach zones
   ? Special efforts on the low bands
  To do this we have carefully looked at the propagation conditions. These
will of course be updated closer to the departure to maximize them. For
Tromelin, they had proved fairly accurate, even for short openings LP and
other peculiarities. A schedule such as this one (FT4JA Planning) will be
displayed in front of each station and will be the score to play for the
operators. Not surprisingly, the areas under the best conditions will be
Europe and Japan followed by the east coast of the US and Oceania. To
conclude, the most difficult area to work will be the west coast of the
US. We will follow these schedules so as not to miss any opening, with
priority for those benefiting from shorter openings. This is what we
announced and this is what we will do. We rely also on the cooperation
of all of you.
  We invite you to send now your information to the pilot station dedicated
to your area. There is still time to make the necessary adjustments. Once
there, our pilots will be the only contact persons. We will be sent daily
compilations of your comments to adjust our operation if need be.
  Finally, let us remind you that the band plan coordinated with VK0EK
is available on our website. The success of these two concurrent projects
will rely on your understanding of this band plan and how you stick to it.

7 stations instead of 6, which you will admit, is a good thing except for

GB6, ENGLAND (Special Event). Look for special event station GB6GEO to
be on the air between May 28-29th, from the Prehistoric Caves, of "Kent's
Cavern", England's oldest in Britain. GB6GEO will be situated in the
English Riviera (Torbay), that is recognized as having Geo Park status
by UNESCO. There are six in the UK, and fifty-three in the world. They
hope GB6GEO will help to promote geological heritage to the general
public. Suggested frequencies are 3680, 7080, 14180, 21180, 28380 and
50180 kHz. GB6GEO will issue a special commemorative QSL card, and there
is a certificate for the paper chasers. Just work one contact with the
GB6GEO HQ station or any other two stations. For more details please look
up GB6GEO on QRZ.com ADDED NOTE: There will be other Geopark stations on
the air during the Geoparks Communication Weekend -- DK0GEO (Germany),

H40 & H44, TEMOTU PROVINCE AND SOLOMON ISLANDS (Update). Stan, LZ1GC,
will be active from Temotu Province as H40GC and Solomon Islands as
H44GC between September 24th and October 21st. His tentative schedule
is as follows:
       H44GC - Solomon Islands between September 24th and October 3rd
       H40GC - Temotu Province between October 4-17th
       H44GC - Solomon Islands between October 18-21st
  Activity will be on 160-10 meters with a focus on low bands using CW,
SSB and RTTY. QSL via his home callsign, direct, LoTW or ClubLog's OQRS.

HI, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. Boris, N3SY, will once again be active as HI3/N3SY
from the Dominican Republic between now and March 16th. Activity will be
on all HF bands using K3 transceiver and FT-100D with 50-70 watts into a
1.5 meters Vertical and some other antennas. QSL only direct to his home
callsign.

HU, EL SALVADOR (Canceled). Members of the "Club de Radioaficionados de
El Salvador" (C.R.A.S.) in San Salvador were expected to be active as HU1A
during the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 29-30th) as a Multi-Single entry.
Activity was "canceled due to force majeure".

INDIAN OCEAN HAMFEST? Michele, 5R8UI, has announced that he is organizing
a "hamfest" on Nosy Be Island in Madagascar for the Indian Ocean?s radio
amateurs as well as all foreigners too. He planning to organize the meeting
between September 10-11th, 2016, and also offers the possibility to stay
a little longer to discover Nosy Be Island and the archipelago. Nosy Be
Island is the most famous tourist location in Madagascar, with 4 stars
hotels. The Mediterranean DX Club (MDXC) <www.mdxc.org> is a partner of
INDIAN OCEAN HAMFEST. The DxCoffee <www.dxcoffee.com> and Amateur Radio

INTREPID-DX GROUP NEWS (VP8 Team Update). Dear DX Community: We are happy
to inform you that all of the VP8STI/VP8SGI team members are now home and 
enjoying their families after 46 days away.
  We are reading and responding to the many email messages received while
we were away. We did not have any internet access during our voyage or
while on the islands other than brief BGAN time to upload logs. Within a
few days we will have answered all messages and inquiries.
  We are happy to read that we have largely satisfied the need for contacts
and that our results are appreciated. This was a very expensive and
difficult trip. Most of us would do it again!
  We are grateful for your financial and emotional support. Today, we have
decided to make a change to our previously announced QSL/LoTW policy.
  Although our previous policy was to give LoTW only to those who requested
a QSL card and then do a full LoTW upload in September, we have just now
decided to do a full upload to LoTW as our way of saying ?thank you? for
everyone?s generous support!
  We have just completed uploading the entire VP8STI and VP8SGI logs to
Log Book of the World. Soon, we will upload VP8IDX and VP8DRC logs to
LoTW as well.
  We hope that this gesture will negate the need to send us bureau cards
which we feel will someday be replaced by Log Book of the World. It is our
hope to encourage and promote this development.
  Soon, you will be able to read accounts of our journey and we will
produce a nice video which we will share with you at no cost. We hope to
see you soon as we begin to give our presentations and tell our stories.
  In the coming months, we hope to tell you about our plans for another

           RT92KA from Alyumka Island between April 20-25th. Operators
           mentioned are Andrey/R9XC, Yuri/UA0KBG and Victor/UA3AKO.
           Activity will be on 40-15 meters using CW and SSB. QSL via

  EU-048.  Operators Paul/ON6DP, Fred/ON6QR, Didier/ON6YH, Jea/ON7ZM,
           Bob/ON4LRG, Janny/ON5PO and Jean-Marie/F5NLX will be active
           as TM6G from Groix Islands during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July

  EU-067.  Tommy, VK2IR/SV0XBF, will be active as SV0XBF/SV8 from three

           Naxos Island and Antiparos Island. Activity will be holiday
           style using a small portable backpack set up this time with

LIGHTHOUSE ACTIVITY/AWARD. The Algerian Amateur Radio Union (ARU) has
organized during 2016 five different lighthouses activations on the
Algerian coast. They have provided an electronic certificate and a free
plate. The competition is open to all radio amateurs worldwide. To obtain
the free electronic certificate, you must confirm minimum one QSO (1) by
each of the following callsigns: 7Y9LI, 7Y9GH, 7Y9TH, 7Y9OU and 7Y9SE
during the current year. To obtain the free plaque trophy you must confirm
minimum of four QSOs (4) on different bands per each of the above callsigns.
For the certificate and the plaque trophy, please send via E-mail your
logs with your exact contact information (call, full name, and email

P4, ARUBA. Ken, VE3LA, will be active as P4/VE8DX from Aruba (SA-036)
between March 1-8th. Activity will be holiday style (family vacation)
mainly on SSB with some CW, but his main operation will be in the ARRL
DX SSB Contest (March 5-6th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/High-Power entry

P40, ARUBA (Special Event). Look for special event station P40AUA from
Aruba (SA-036) to be active the entire month of March 2016 to commemorate
the 40th anniversary of the Aruban flag and national anthem, and the 30th
anniversary of their Status Aparte. Activity will be on all HF bands using

P4, ARUBA (Correction). Operators John/W6LD, Mike/K9NW, Paul/K9PG and
Paul/WE9V will be active as P40L during the ARRL DX SSB (not CW) Contest

PJ2, CURACAO. Frits, PA3FYS, is now active PJ2/PA3FYS from Curacao Island
(SA-099) until March 9th. Activity will be mostly on 14230 and 28460 kHz

PJ2, CURACAO. Dr. Joerg, DL3LUM, will be active as PJ2/DL3LUM from Curacao
Island (SA-099) between March 26-31st. Activity will be on the HF bands.

SILENT KEY. OPDX was informed that Norman Pascoe, G4USB (GK4USB), one of
the founders of the International Marconi Day and the yearly organizer
of this event, became a Silent Key (SK) just over a week ago. He was also
Webmaster of the <gb4imd.com> and <gx4crc.com> Web sites. Currently these
Web sites are offline due to severe malware issues. The Cornish Radio
Amateur Club (CRAC) is trying to sort this out and gain access to them,
but it will take some considerable time. OPDX and its readers would like
to send out our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of G4USB.

T32, EAST KIRIBATI (Reminder). Operators Stan/AC8W (T32WW), Ted/K8AQM
(T32TR), Larry/K8MU (T32MU), Stephen/K8QKY (T32SB), Brian/KG8CO (T32CO),
Lee/N8LJ (T32LJ) and Fred/N6FS (T32FS) will be active from Kiritimati
(Christmas Island) [OC-024] between March 1-16th. Activity will be on
160-10 meters using CW, SSB and several Digital modes. Plans are to
have four stations running 500 watts into verticals on the beach. They
also plan to be in the ARRL International DX SSB Contest (March 5-6th)
and the Commonwealth Contest (BERU) [March 12-13th]. Look for them to
be on 30/17/12 meters during the contest. QSL all callsigns via AC8JF.

TI5, COSTA RICA. Chris, KL9A, is now active as TI5/KL9A from Alajuela
as part of the TI5W ARRL DX SSB Contest team. Activity has been on 160-
10 meters, including the 30/17/12m bands, using mainly CW and some SSB.
QSL via AC7DX direct (No IRCs).

TS2, TUNISIA (Special Event). Look for special event station TS2G to be
active during the International Festival of Saharan Ksour of Tataouine
between March 17-20th. QSL via direct or by the Bureau.

VP2V, BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS. Kevin, K6TOP, will once again be active
as VP2V/K6TOP from Tortola, British Virgin Islands (NA-023), between
now and March 7th. Activity will be limited (family vacation) using an
ICOM 706 MKII with 100 watts into a 40m vertical, 20/15/10 multiband
dipole. Operations will be CW almost exclusively. Operating hours are
typically 0100-0300z and 1000-1200z due to family commitments. Kevin
mentioned last time, "When the pileups get difficult, I listen to the
