3B7C, ST. BRANDON ISLAND. Don Field, G3XTT, FSDXA Publicity Officer,
posted a press release (their 5th) on the 3B7C DXpedition Web page this
past week. Excerpts from the release state that operations will take
place from Isle du Sud, St.Brandon, between September 7-24th. Operators
Neville/G3NUG and Don/G3BJ have taken a vacation in Mauritius and used
the opportunity to confirm the various logistical arrangements for
their September operation. Don also visited Isle du Sud to make a
detailed site survey. Everything is looking good, and the contracts are
in place, both for the ship which will take them to the island and for
accommodation and logistics on the island. It seems that they will have
the island to themselves. A container full of gear has been shipped and
will arrive in Mauritius on August 12th. Six large diesel generators
have also been shipped. Good news for 6m enthusiasts. Eventhough 6m
operations are not normally allowed from Mauritius and its outlying
islands, they have been able to gain a short-term permit. It is limited
to three fixed frequencies: 50090 (CW), 50102 (CW) and 50145 (USB). A
new team member has been added. Bob, N6OX, has now joined the team.
They are still looking for another operator (details are on the Web
page). Their Web site continues to be updated on a regular basis. There
are photographs of the island and of the container being loaded. Also,
included are details about QSLing on the Web, site and you may wish to
check this out before they fire up. They will, of course, be fully
supportive of LoTW, for those who are looking for DXCC credits.
Remember that if you are a sponsor, you will receive priority treatment
for QSL cards. Also on the Web site you will find details of how to
pre-order the DVD that they will be making of the 3B7C operation. For
more details and the complete press release, please visit their Web
page at: http://www.3b7c.com/

BS7H QSL STATUS. The 2007 Scarborough Reef DXpedition is pleased to
announce that the first QSLs were mailed. Steve, KU9C, has received
over 10,000 envelopes, so they expect it will take approximately 2
months before every card is answered. Please do not send for a second
card until they announce all cards have been answered. Steve will
also upload QSOs to LoTW as he processes the cards, so if you utilize
LoTW, you can expect your QSOs to show up roughly the same time you
receive your card. This will allow you to avoid mailing in your
physical QSL card for verification. A small number of QSL cards were
received with either no SASE or a SASE with old style IRCs that are
no longer valid. KU9C will attempt to contact you via E-mail, but if
he cannot contact you, these will be returned by the bureau. Steve
will also upload bureau card QSOs to LoTW as they are processed.

GOLIST QSL MANAGER DATABASE HELP NEEDED. John, K1XN, from the GoList
informs: "During my QSL Manager confirmation process, I have accum-
alated a list of QSL Managers for which I could not find a published
E-mail address, or the E-mail address that I found is not valid and
bounces mail. Listed below are some of those QSL Managers that I am
having problems with. I hope that maybe they will read this message
and take the time to update their E-mail address on QRZ.com or send
them to me direct at: golist at gmail.com "

N8S QSL STATUS: Dragan, YT3W, announced last week that they mailed
2500 QSL cards. All QSL cards received up to June 1st have been
answered. There were a total of 14,500 direct QSL cards answered and
1000 sent via bureau. They still have 2500 QSL cards to answer since
June 1st. All will be mailed within the next 15 days. News about the
N8S QSL cards can be found at: http://www.yt1ad.info/n8s/news.html

VU7LD ON LOTW (Special Note). When uploading your VU7LD QSOs into the
"Logbook of The World" (LoTW), ONLY used the callsign VU7LD and not
VU7LD/VU2xxx callsign. If you do not do this, your QSO will not be
found in the LoTW. The appended /VU2xxx to the callsign VU7LD was to
indicate who the operator was. This was reportedly required by Indian
authorities but the actual license was "VU7LD".

YU6AO QSL STATUS: Dragan, YT3W, announced last week that all QSL
cards received between January 29th and July 25th were processed and

WH2D during the IOTA Contest, took time out of the contest to inform
OPDX that he (and his family) are now living and working in Guam.
He suggests to read his current bio and operating information under
WH2D on QRZ.com. There you will also see a nice photo of him and the
kids from the school's radio club. Mike operates from the school's
radio club (WH2D). He states that he works 90% CW and works whatever HF
bands are open. Mike will also QSX for EU and NA when the bands open
-- "which doesn't happen often". He also makes token appearances in
most major and regional contests and always works transceive and never
works split. Mike adds, "I attempt to work the deserving on all 9 HF
bands.... which is a pretty lofty goal, but it's what keeps the pileups
fun for me." Lastly, he informs, "I've been on the air for nearly a
year now from WH2D (St. John's School ARC) running 100W to a Cuschcraft
R-7000. The plan for this year is for a new hex beam, add some power,
and boost my QSO total. Last school year, I made 6,000 contacts. This
school year I hope to do 10,000 contacts. Work and family duties keep
me away from the radio except mostly on weekends." QSL WH2D via K3UOC,
direct or by the bureau. LAST MINUTE NOTE: Just before going to print,
Mike E-mailed OPDX again and mentioned he wrote an article for their
school's Web site about the club and the activity at WH2D. You may find
this interesting. There are some CW sound bites there. Visit:
