9M2, WEST MALAYISA. Tex, 9M2TO, informs OPDX that the callsign 9M4SIX
has been issued to the Malaysian Amateur Radio Transmitter Society (MARTS)
for 6 meters operations. A beacon signing 9M4SIX (supported by MARTS,
JA1OCZ and JI1ETU) is now active and transmitting on 50005 kHz from Tex's
QTH.

A22, BOTSWANA (Ops Needed!). Frosty, K5LBU (aka-C91CF/7P8CF/3DA0CF), is
once again trying to put a team together to operate from another African
country. He thinks operating from Botswana (A22) for the IARU Contest in
July would be a good place. The contest is July 14-15th, so Frosty thinks
that 15 days total would be the best amount of time to operate (arrive on
the 9th of July and depart on the 23rd). This would give them 2 weekends
on the air. If he can find at least 5 or more operators to join him, he
will set up 2 stations (one for CW, one for SSB and/or possibly one can
be used for RTTY and PSK or whatever a person would like to run). If he
can not find a good place in A22-land, Frosty might look at Lesotho (7P8)
if they can get real callsigns and not portable ones. He states that
Daniel, ZS6JR, will have to check both places out. If you are interested
in joining Frosty, let him know ASAP, at: frosty1 at pdq.net

CT9, MADEIRA ISLANDS (Lighthouse Activity). Members from Madeira Island
Radio Club (ARRM) and operators Alfons/DJ8VC and Rudolf/HB9CQL will be

MAD-005 and WLOTA LH-0053) on Madeira Island (AF-014, DIP MA-001),
January 19-21st. Operators mentioned are Hermann/CT3FN, Rudi/HB9CQL,
Alfons/DJ8VC, Jose/CT3MD, Luis/CT3EE, Tiago/CT3KU, Jose/CT3DZ, Jose/CT3KY,
Luis/CT3DL, Joe/CT3BD, Duarte/CT3EN, Miguel/CT3IA, and other associates
from the Radio Club. Activity will be on 160-10 meters, CW, SSB, RTTY
and PSK. QSL via CS3MAD: ARRM, P.O. Box 4694, 9058 Funchal, Madeira Island.

DX0, SPRATLY ISLANDS (Update). Members of the Philippine Amateur Radio
Association (PARA) and a group of JA operators will be active as DX0JP
from the Pag-Asa Island, in the Kalayaan Island Group (AS-051), Philippines,
February 3-13th. Activity will be on 160-2 meters, CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK,
with a special emphasis on the low bands. Operations will also be on 6 and
2 meters (JT65 EME). JA team members include JA1BRK, JA1RJU, JF1IST,
JA4DND, and JF2XGF, and the PARA operators are DU1EV, DU1BA and 4F2KWT.
QSL via JA1HGY. EME QSO only via JA1RJU. Look for more info to appear
nearer to the date on the DX0JP Web page at: http://www.dxcom.jp/dx0jp

QSL via K1BV. Priority will be given to NA QSOs and New ones. See Nodir's
Web page for skeds: http://ey8mm.codan.ru

HAMATLAS ON THE WEB! Darek, SP6NVK, informs OPDX that he has started a
new ham atlas service on the Web after 4 years of work on it. This service
contains the complete information on all 337 DXCC Entities, over 3000
pictures and 1100 maps. He hopes everyone will enjoy and be satisfied in
using his service. The HamAtlas Web site is available at:
                         http://www.hamatlas.eu/

JT, MONGOLIA. Khosbaya, JT1CD, announced this past week that licensed
radio amateurs of Mongolia held a conference on November 18th and have
now established a new organization. The name of new organization is the
"Mongolian Amateur Radio Soceity" (MARS). MARS will officially represent
Mongolia to the IARU and all amateur radio societies. MARS hopes that they
can co-work together in the future. Once all licensed amateur radio
operators of Mongolia have switched their membership from Mongolian Radio
Sport Federation (MRSF) to MARS, they hope that they can change the name
and keep IARU membership. MARS will continue to pay its dues to IARU and
their QSL bureau will be working permanently in the future. Also, MARS will
be providing Mongolian Amateur Radio Awards to the world's amateur radio
operators. If there are questions, please feel free to contact the
following:
President of MARS D.Bolor, bolor at ntc.mn
   General Secretary N.Khosbayar, JT1CD, jt1kaa at mtcone.net
   Secretary D.Nekhiit, JT2AN, jt2an at yahoo.com

NCDXF PRESS RELEASE: "NCDXF announces new video! I'm pleased to announce
a new video about the Northern California DX Foundation. This video
explains the history of NCDXF and highlights the Foundation's many
accomplishments, including our scholarship program, the sponsorship of
DXpeditions, the NCDXF/IARU International Beacon Network, and support for
the World Radiosport Team Championship (WRTC). Everyone will enjoy the
footage from numerous Foundation-sponsored DXpeditions and even long-time
NCDXF supporters will probably learn a few things they didn't already know
about the Foundation's activities.
The video runs just under ten minutes in length and was produced by
James Brooks, 9V1YC. DXers around the world are certainly familiar with
the high-quality DXpedition videos James has produced over the years.
DVD copies will be available in the coming weeks, but the video is
available now for viewing on-line under the "Videos" section of the NCDXF
web site: http://www.ncdxf.org
It may also be viewed or downloaded from the Google Video site at the
following URL: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1969114446660423090
Feel free to spread the word about this video. Thanks for your support
of NCDXF! 73, Tim Totten N4GN, Director, NCDXF"
