John and everyone else,

As the former QSL manager for A61AJ I can shed some light on this issue!
First off I am not picking on any one person. I am going to say this as
politely as I can and try not to offend anyone. For those in the US
there is no need to send money to N4QB for QSLs. If you want to fine,
otherwise not necessary! For those out side of the US he needs one IRC
or one Greenstamp or 80 cents postage (60 cents VE and XE). Anything
beyond that is accepted. Money and IRCs have nothing to do with when or
if you will receive a QSL from A61AJ.

No to the crux of the problem. Over the years there have been some
minor logging problems (read this to say a couple of operators did not
log QSOs). Thank fully not a lot of those QSOs. Some logs were put on
scrap pieces of paper, hundreds of scraps with all kinds of chicken
scratch hand writing.

Another problem has been timely sending of computer logs to the QSL
manager. Thankfully now a local (Dubai) T9 station goes to A61AJ every
so often to make sure the logs are maintained correctly and sent to the
QSL manager.

Over the last few years A61AJ made well over 200,000 QSOs! Most of you
can not imagine the amount of QSLs and work load those numbers create.
I can tell you that most of the Europeans and JAs are averaging about 4
QSOs per envelope. Most US stations average about 2 QSOs.

So here is the bottom line - you want your QSL. All QSLs must go via
N4QB. If you have waited more than 6 months for a direct QSL let me
know via e-mail and I will give you some extra details. I don't know
about how long bureau cards take so don't ask me.

Worked A61AJ in May of 2002. Sent card to N4QB with a buck and SASE.
No
reply.

Worked A61AJ in October 2002, Sent card to N4QB with $5 and SASE. No
reply.

Been passing on A61AJ since due to cost. Anyone know what it costs to
get a
card out of N4QB? Perhaps I could start saving....
