There are only a few countries that still do not have authorization
for 30 Meters. These are A4, HS (all WARC bands), and 5Z.
VU initiated 'temporary' authorization a year or two ago and has
renewed that authorization every six months since.

I use several dipoles for the WARC bands, including:

1 - a 20M dipole fed with ladderline and a Johnson Matchbox
This has a figure 8 pattern from 10 through 30 Meters at 50 ft.
     GREAT ANTENNA.

2 - (Level) 80M dipoles which act as current fed Long Wires
on the WARC Bands (3/2 WL on 30M, 5/2 WL on 17M,
7/2 WL on 12M) which present <3:1 SWR on 30M and
<2:1 SWR on 17 and 12M when fed with coax. Patterns
have multiple narrow lobes plus 4 major lobes approximately
30 degrees from the wire. 80M Inverted Vees do NOT work
as well as horizontal dipoles since the nulls fill in, taking
energy from the main lobes which reduces the gain in those
lobes. My 130 ft high 80M EU dipole has a BIG LOBE
into SE Asia on the WARC bands. It has sometimes been
the only antenna that could hear weak SE Asians on 12M
     during marginal conditions.

3 - Matched Yagi booms (TH6, 3L20) which work well as
rotary dipoles. Use either a Gamma or Omega match.
18 to 24 ft booms can be matched for either 30 or 40M
as long as the end elements are electrically connected
to the boom to provide capacitive End Loading. This idea
will NOT work if the End elements are insulated.

4 - Cushcraft D3W trapped dipole which can be mounted
on a mast above a tribander or easily side mounted
on a tower leg. I place a PVC sleeve over the leg
for protection. Slice an 8 inch length of 1.25 inch i.d.
PVC lengthwise and slip it over the tower leg. Drill
additional holes in the mounting plate to accomodate
1.5 inch wide U bolts. The D3W can be 'rope rotated'
by if the U bolts are tightened to a 'snug fit' that prevents
blowing in the wind but allows rotation with a slight
unbalanced force (such as from a rope tied to the top
of the tower coming down to ground and pulled out
    for rotation.
