[DX] dipole vs horiz. loop for low band DXing

I am currently running a homebrew version of a G5RV
dipole. It is about 110 feet long, roughly
horizontal, with the one leg dipping down to about 7
feet high. The center is probably 20-25 feet high,
and won't be able to get it any higher anytime soon.
It seems to do OK on low band dxing, but does catch
quite a bit of static. I used to use a random
wire, around 130 feet or so at another QTH and had very
good luck with that on 80 and 40 meter DX. Don't have
the space to put up such a wire today, but could turn
the dipole into a closed horizontal loop. It would be
about 200 feet or so in diameter, at the same
heighth-approximately 25-30 feet off the ground.

Is this worth it? How would this loop perform
compared to the dipole. I understand that the dipole
has a crummy take off angle due to its low height, but
it is as high as I can currently get it. Use it on 30
to 80 meters, and wonder whether adding the extra wire
for the loop will improve performance, or hurt
performance.
Any advice would be most welcomed.
