There were some messages about a DXpedition with "attitude" -- aimed at VP8THU to South Sandwich Islands. They took very light-weight gear
and ran only 100 watts into vertical dipoles.

I highly recommend that you see the film James Brooks, 9V1YC, produced. My copy arrived yesterday, and I watched it last night. You will see
the operators jumping onto a rocky wall from a zodiac being bounced by the sea. They hand the equipment up with some difficulty. The exit is
even more dramatic. They wade through penguin crap constantly.

The video contains a nice historical perspective on the islands. For info on the film:

I have no connection with this film. I am only a happy customer and even happier to be among the 27,000 QSOs. It was an all-time new one for
me -- thanks guys.

I find it difficult to understand the attitude of those who sit in the comfort of their shack and expect a DXpedition to do things their way. It seems to
me you only have a right to expect a DXpedition to do it your way if you put up the money. The way to do things your way is to do them yourself.
