I think taking the "least costly" approach was a good on for you. If you
continue talking on the phone while on the roof in the dark with your pocket
knife open scraping the insulation off the trap windings.(it's Spring but
you didn't mention thunderstorms)..you're going to be looking at rather
substantial hospital bills in the not too distant future! <grin>.

Glad you got it working...now get the hell down off the roof!
