[DX] altered e-cards

This regards a WAS card, not a DXCC one, but the principle is the same. I
needed KY, had a nice QSO with a long-time ham down there, and he promised
to send me his card. He KNEW I needed it for WAS and said he was happy to help.

Unfortunately, after receiving my card and SASE, he "sent" his via e-mail.
We exchanged messages and he insisted it would be valid for WAS.

I printed it out in color, on card stock, circled the "TNX" in blue ink,
and put it in with my WAS cards. When the 50th real one finally came, my
card-checker got 51 and he knew to look for a fake. At the end, with KY in
there twice, he still didn't spot the invalid card.

If I had doctored the card electronically, covered up the e-signature, and
signed it myself, no one but me would be the wiser. Changing a band or mode
would work equally well.

Think about it. My friend the WAS card-checker has been DXing for 45 years
and is close to Honor Roll, so he knows how to inspect cards.
