Hello Jim,
I couldn't agree with you more....
Why should you or I or any other hard-working Ham have to jump
through extra hoops to get a card we deserve. Once the station is
genuinely worked and logged our chores and worries should be over..we
bagged them! Now....let's get the card through an easy-to-do and
rip-off proof way.
We have no control over foreign postal workers who routinely pilfer
$$$ from the mail of their own locally known Hams. Moreover we cannot
control the ability of some banana-republics to even properly deliver
un-pilfered mail in the first place.
And lastly...let's not forget about some so-called DX ops that have
turned their rare home country into a dollar-bill collecting entity for
themselves...you know the ones that get thousands of cards with $$$
enclosed each year and then only send out a couple dozen confirmations.
Just enough so some Hams can "verify" that DX op so-and-so does
qsl...yeah to about 1% of the cards he receives...
I know to some this may be DX dirty laundry but it is also a DX
fact-of-life if one pursues the traditional way of QSO confirmations
that some still insist on referring to as "getting real qsl cards".
Now with eQSL all that crap is stopped permanently....oh yeah...isn't
technology great?
