Pedro has provided me with some additional information about his
situation. Because he is managing 500 callsigns and gets about 100 emails
a day, he is busy under normal circumstances. Any problems make things
more difficult.
One problem he has faced with some of his stations is not having their
electronic log which can allow him to print the info for a card. This is
the normal process and most efficient way. Without that log, he may be
able to hand fill in a card and that takes a lot more effort.
I inquired about log information that can be seen for users of hamlog.eu
and asked if it can be used for confirming a QSO. It seems possible but
does require the hand filling of the card. I can understand why Pedro
might feel that method is not good and he may choose to delay until a
full log is received by him. That encourages more emails to him. Look at
the log for some users of hamlog.eu for 'rare' stations and you can imagine
how many requests he gets. So, he is frustrated at not being able to do
the job the efficient way as it was designed and at getting all the
questions because he has not taken that time consuming method.
As for the stations that are not sending logs on time, some seem to be
finally getting him logs but he now has a significant backlog. There is
reason to feel more optimistic.
Anyway, Pedro is in a tough position for taking money but not getting the
needed logs to let him manage in the intended way. He seems dedicated to
solving this but he asks for patience as he deals with the backlog that has
accumulated.
