I only need FT/W and YK to have cfm'd every DXCC CTY on the current
DXCC list. The team who went to FT/J in 2016 really did a FB job and I
had hoped they would soon be going to FT/W.
I understand the problem with the bird population. I was crew on the
US Coast Guard C-130's that supplied the Coast Guard LORAN stations
with many landings at Midway and Kure where there were a million Goony
Birds (Albatross) that some got hit during take offs and landings. The
plane can be seen on my qrz.com page. But once on the island it would
seem antennas with a lot of waving red flags would keep the birds
away. Anyway, I am hoping Seb-F5UFX and his crew can someday get
permission to land on FT/W.

Extracted from OPDX Bulleting dtd March 19 2018
"FT/W & FT/G, CROZET AND GLORIOSO ISLANDS (Will Probably Stay Rare For
Now).
A letter written by Sebastien, F5UFX, was sent out to the media this
past weekend explaining the status of Amateur Radio from the French
oversea territories and their project for an expedition to Crozet and
Glorioso Islands. Currently, DXpeditions to Crozet (FT/W) and Glorioso
Islands
(FT/G) seem unlikely due to the many TAAF island restrictions for pro-
tecting the birds, ecosystems and safeguarding biodiversity. The
length of the letter is too long to publish here, but can be read
online at the following Web sites:
DXNEWS.COM - https://dxnews.com/crozet-glorioso
DX-WORLD.NET -
https://dx-world.net/project-for-an-expedition-to-crozet-and-glorioso-
islands
PLEASE NOTE: As of March 10th, both Crozet (FT/W) and Glorioso Islands
(FT/G) are both ranked on ClubLog's "DXCC Most Wanted List", #3 and
#13, respectively"
