[Dx-qsl] USE OF IRC IN GERMANY

Yet another reason to abandon the whole wretched IRC system. Different post
offices and different workers in each post office either have their own
interpretation of the rules or make them up themselves. IRCs have been a
pain in the kiester for years. Just put a couple of USDs in the envelope and
it will work well, or find a station that is good with PayPal. The only time
I would ever use IRCs now is when the person's QRZ profile states quite
clearly that IRCs are *preferred*.

Subject: [Dx-qsl] USE OF IRC IN GERMANY

I sent QSL request to a QSL manager in Germany with SAE and a couple of
(current) IRCs for return postage.

The manager sent the QSL card which I had requested but he included a
cryptic note:

                Not appreciated your Japan IRCs?

Only your USA own IRCs own country OK?

Of course, the US Postal System no longer sells IRCs so we have to use IRCs
issued in another country.

Does anyone know if there is a problem in Germany using an IRC issued in
another country to obtain postage to send an envelope to USA?

Thanks

Bill, K0DEQ
