Oh the famous "Pinguinator"! I guess it didn't take much to piss-off
Alan. He complained people didn't like to follow rules and made a case
of trying to educate people. He posted an exact "map" of his operation
on the web and if you had read it before, the qso was fairly easy. If
not he wouldn't budge and provide a qso if you didn't follow his precise
rules. If you did follow his rules he was actually a nice guy! All in
all that's my only qso with VK0MM.. I think I read somewhere he passed ,
is this true?

Sure. Just make sure that if you (or others) do email them, do it NICELY.
Anyone else remember, a few years back, when VK0LD/VK0MM came on the air
from Macquarie, for a year? Someone told him, early on, that he HAD to
send
in his authorization to operate to the League, and didn't do so very
nicely... made it a demand, not a polite request.
As I recall, Alan didn't take very kindly to the request/demand, and at
least at first, refused to do so.
I know it eventually got straightened out, but for awhile there, the more
people prodded Alan, the more resistant to being prodded he became.
I don't think we need a repeat of that situation...

At the same time nudge 5A1AL to do the same thing. I have. It wouldn't
hurt to have others send him an Email, if you wish to do so. The DXCC
Desk has asked for copy of his license. His email is: elzo71 at yahoo.com

We just need to nudge him to send in the proper paperwork.

Why would you say this would not count for DXCC? If he's physically there
and the license has been issued to him, what's the problem?
