The FT-897D is *not* suitable for direct connection to the FL-2100.

The TX GND signal on the CAT/Linear jack is only capable of switching a
low current, *positive* voltage as used in the Quadra. The FL-2100 has
a *NEGATIVE* PTT voltage (about -18V unloaded) as can be confirmed by
examining the schematic.

The PTT voltage is derived from the bias supply.

In order to interface the FT-897D to the FL-2100 you will need a buffer
circuit - either a low current relay or solid state buffer like the

Electronics SK-201: http://www.harbachelectronics.com to isolate the
FT-897D from the negative PTT voltage in the FL-2100.
