Very good point Tim!
I have occasionally received mail where the sender has apparently
deliberately scribbled a couple of lines through the pretty
commemorative stamp with a ball point pen, presumably to make it
worthless to a stamp thief?
Probably doesn't go down to well with the DX station though, if he's
also a stamp collector! :-!
