[Dx-qsl] HK0NA OQRS QRV

Tom,
I think we're starting to, ah, discuss this in circles here.
I understand what you're saying.
But what I'm trying to get at is simply this:
IF the DXpedition or DXoperator(s) are planning to do a Logbook of the World update anyway, then why would you need a check box to say "I'm making a QSL donation but don't send me a card"? Just send the group a general donation, as you will get your LotW confirmation regardless.
Now I know that there are some groups that have indicated that they would do their LotW uploads in stages, with those making donations or contributions getting their confirmations uploaded first. Without getting into a debate on THAT practice... those who do that have a means on the contribution/donation page to indicate who you are, right? So again, no need for a separate or additional checkbox.
And if the group has no intentions of using LotW now or in the future, and there are many who feel this way for any of a variety of reasons, there's no need to have a checkbox to say "please upload to LotW" since they've already made the decision not to use it... right?
So I'm not at all discounting what you're asking for. I'm just saying that the option is already there!
Oh, and while I'm thinking of it...
Note to W5TFW: I found a very simple solution to displaying my QSL cards. I got a small scanner and a small digital picture frame at Dayton last year. Now, I have a constant display of some of my favorite cards available, view changing every few seconds, and taking up only a small amount of wall space. I just need to sit down and get a bunch more scanned in, but this way the physical cards are safe & sound in storage for when (if) I need them, & I don't have to worry about fading or damage from being on display.
As soon as the price becomes a bit more affordable, I'll do the same thing with a larger digital picture frame for awards and certificates. And that will solve the connundrum of wanting to display these, while trying to use as much wall space (in the shack's small corner of the basement) as available for shelving!

I dont think that proves anything. If you need the confirmation for No
1 HR or something similar you will have
to apply for a card as you have no other choice, so the numbers of cards
issued is inflated.

Yes, you can submit a donation, yes you can request a card via OQRS, but
what about a box to tick
for those willing to send a mall donation BUT HAVE NO INTEREST IN
RECEIVING A CARD, JUST AN LOTW
CONFIRMATION. Save a stamp, save the cost of a card. Win, win
situation, everybody happy and
nor arguing about it.
