[Dx-qsl] PSE ADVISE for SWL card

Hi Boris,

you're right when checking SWL reports with the Cluster. I do the same and just
rejected two cards from a german SWL...he wrote down my cluster spotting...
All I said is my personal opinion. May be a Ham collects even SWL cards (for
any reason - may be a missing bandpoint for SWL or needed for a SWL diploma),
you are right if you say, he can even write down some other calls.
-> But the question is, if this is really necessarry?

Yes, german Hams send sometimes even a QSL for their personal call, when operating
from a Club station. If they do not saying please also a QSL for my own call, they are
not in the log.

SWLing is easier. No hourse of shouting, keying etc... but HAM radio is more fun :-)
- even with novice class

I do not SWL that much any more (only 3 DXCC missing for full house). Only when I need
a card for some reason.

Andreas,

Doing what you are suggesting looks to me as trying to get SWL report after
DXpedition is over. Otherwise I do not see a problem writing down a few
callsigns while calling DXpedition for QSO. Another problem with DL HAM's is
that very often operators on club station want QSL on their personal callsign
which is not in the LOG...

I check all SWL reports against DX cluster and it is funny that some SWL's 'have
heard' QSO's that never happened because spotter did not worked QSO at that
time.

Phil is absolutely correct - I'm a Ham and SWL.
Cluster reports are invalid, 2-3 QSOs for a SWL (best one after one) are okay.

But when sending a SWL QSL for a QSO with my personal Ham-call, I can't see
anything wrong in there. Why? Because I have really heard the DX-station
(otherwise
I could not have able to make a QSO with it). And that shows better then
anything else,
that I really have heard them. SWLs are trying to HEAR the DX station. And when
I have
really heard them (even as a Ham), it should be o-kay.
Is DE1DXX another person as DO1DXX? I have the same name, QTH, Radio and the
same wife.

My particular policy towards SWL cards is set out at http://www.g3swh.org.uk/swl_reports.html
Unfortunately, very few SWL reports comply as they only list a single station

Erick, Ken, Murray, and the others,

Thank you very much for your advises.
Actually, we got the SWL card enclosed with the QSL card from the same
 person.
The SWL card includes 160 - 10m SSB/CW/RTTY, but only 160m CW was made
 by the same operator.

Another big issue is that the other reports on the SWL card are the
just same as the DX-cluster reports.

Yes, I, myself, have received such type of SWL reports a lot.
Sometimes, the call sign that the SWL reports insist I made the QSO
are not in my log, but he or she just posted me on the DX-cluster.

I dare say most SWL reports I have received so far seem not to really
heard but only based on the DX-cluster reports.
I am very sad to say that the SWL activities "to get QSL cards" are
dying in these days when we have the DX-cluster system.
