[Dx-qsl] 4U1ITU HELP

I would like to suggest a DXpedition to a rare 6 meter entity that is still
very much needed. The entity's surrounding area is sparsely
populated...about 3 million people as I understand. I, for one, have NEVER
heard this entity on the "magic band". It seems to more rare than HV, 1A,
and even Monk Apollo on /A.
The entity is 4U1UN....
It's sitting in New York City and no one seems to be able to activate it for
any amount of time, and in some cases get a QSL from it if it is activated.
This was the same thing I went through when I started the 1996 CY0AA
research. Yes, it took me almost 2 years to get to the correct people, but
doesn't it seem that CY0 is easier to work now than before? Certainly a
BUNCH more activity. In any case, 4U1UN would be a new one for many, on
many bands. My team on Sable all agreed that 6 was under served there, and
while there I know for a fact that one ham was given his 6 meter DXCC, and
MANY were given a new one after 2 days of openings extending all the way
over into the far southwest.
I, for one, would be willing to travel to far away NYC to activate this on
6, and other bands. The 4U1ITU situation is also interesting. It shares
this mystique with 4U1UN. If they are there, and EASY to get to, why aren't
they SO worked out that so operators wouldn't dial right past them?
Just an observation from an old Dx'er....

P.S. Maybe I could get Dave Heil (K8MN) to go with me. He's on the way.
Lotsa Q's then !
