[Dx-qsl] Envelope Question

You could say the same thing about the Southern USA, Central America, the
Caribbean, Southern Europe, etc.
I had a strange experience when stationed in the Philippines. We were in an
old building in the embassy annex. We knew better than to leave open food in
or on our desks because of mice and roaches. But we experienced that after
opening a new pack of envelopes or purchasing a new book of stamps after a
few days the glue would be gone. We also blamed it on the humidity. Then one
night I needed an envelope after hours. I entered the office, turned on my
desk lamp, opened the desk drawer and found roaches eating the glue off a
sheet of stamps I had just bought. Needless to say from then on my stamps
and envelopes were kept in an airtight plastic box.

I doubt if roaches are the problem with the JA and HL envelopes but just
wanted to pass that on to anyone who is living where there are roaches.

In humid climates, which include JA and HL, if you put glue on the envelope,
it tends to seal itself.
