Hello DXers,
My friend, JK1FNL, was confused with the QRZ.COM when he tried to register
his new call sign, 8Q7FF,
because 8Q7FF has been already registered by MM0NDX and JK1FNL can not
modify the page.
All of the information which MM0NDX input was OK, but JK1FNL wishes to add
more information.
Why did MM0NDX register the 8Q7FF even though he is not an owner of the
call sign?
He could register it if no information would have been available by the
start of the DX-pedition or
something like such a timing.
I know the USA call signs are registered automatically with the FCC
database, but the other call sings
are usually registered by the owners as the first priority.
I understand that it must be a good idea for someone else input the data if
nothing has been available.
Do we have to register my own call sing before publishing the news when we
will go to the DX-pedition?
Please advise.
