[Dx-qsl] DX4Win software problem

I normally back up my DX4Win (8.04) logfile (the MASTER one, on my desktop)
to our home server, and then to my laptop, every few days. By copying over
the most recent saved file. That habit has created a huge problem.

I did that just a few minutes ago.

I then went to open DX4Win on my laptop, and was told, when trying to open
the program, that 'This is not a DX4Win logfile' (DX4Win 8.04.DXL).

The back up logbook (DX4Win 8.04.~XL) file also will not open the program.

Same thing happened exactly on my desktop computer.

In the end, I could not get any of my copies of DX4Win (desktop, laptop, and
server) to open. Always the same message as above.

I obviously have a corrupted log file.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to the best way to attack my problem - is
there a way to resurrect the corrupted logfile?

I do have a saved 'good' logfile dated 24 June, and all but about 20 QSOs
(SSB, logged directly into DX4Win) have been saved in MixW (digital and CW
QSOs) so I won't lose too many QSOs - except a lot of data (work) I had done
on those 'MixW' QSOs after importing into DX4Win would be a real pain

Any help or suggestions will be welcomed.
