Hi Ben:

Since, as you stated, you have no Internet connection, I think you
probably mean you have the DX4WIN on a disc and can install the
program. But I'd like to give you my 2¢ worth regarding a computer upgrade.

By the sound of it, you have a very old computer and the technology has
passed you by a long time ago. But I am aware that not everyone has the
opportunity or possibly the financial means of acquiring a more modern
computer that will do all that you would need for some time to come.
But Ben, if finances are a concern, I'm sure that if you looked around,
there are second-hand computers that you could purchase at a very
reasonable price and in good condition plus it would in all probability
have a recent operating system working on it, such as Windows (various
operating systems). And already equipped with decent sized hard drives,
etc.

I don't know how the Internet is served in Sweden. I know that in
several countries, an ISP (Internet Service Provider) charges by the
time spent _while on the Internet_. As you are probably aware, in North
America, it is a monthly charge and a user can stay on the Internet 24
hrs. a day without additional charges.

But if you can get an up-to-date CPU and an ISP then there is no doubt
in my mind, you will feel like you opened a door to a new world. Using
Amateur Radio as an example. There is so much information you can
acquire with Internet access, I'm sure you would not regret getting a
newer computer.

One thing that puzzles me is that if you have no Internet connection at
present, as you said in your posting, how are you able to post and
receive replies??

Good luck with whatever you decide.
