[Dx-qsl] FT5GA and LOTW

Although I would like to see FT5GA logs on LOTW, the prospect of doing so
immediately after any DXPedition would undoubtably "cut into" a souce of
funding that most I think count on as a way to help offset the costs; and I
highly doubt that many DXers would sent five, ten, or X dollars to the
DXPedition if they were getting "instant" LOTW confirmation.
The only semi valid argument is the one presented by DX Club members whos
club sent a donation in the beginning to help defray the costs; however, if
you break down the "donation per member", I would think it is a small
amount.
Personally, I liked the method used by one of the recent DXPeditions (can't
remember which one and I am too lazy to spend the time to find which one it
was) where you could make your donation direct on PayPal (I think it was 5
or 10 bucks) and they would send you your card. I think that is ideal
because you don't have to worry about sending money in the mail and it being
pilfered.
The above said, it would be nice to have the logs eventually "show up" on
LOTW so those that don't mind waiting and/or are in a finincial situation
that precludes them from donating (we all know that dirrect QSLing has
become an expensive method for obtaining a conformation of a QSO).
Reminds me of a rebate I recently received after purchasing something at
Micro Center. You filled out the rebate on line and submitted the required
paperwork (POP and receipt) via mail. It was a 15 buck rebate and what was
interesting was you had a choice of "standing in line" for a few months for
the $15, or you could choose an "express return" within two weeks for a $2
"service charge (you received $13 instead of $15). Actually your "net"
return was a little over $12 because you still had to spend 94 cents for
postage to send the POP and register receipt!
