Received today:
VP5/K5CM, via K5CM (I think) for 80 & 30 meter CW QSO's in 2002.
So. what's curious?
(1) The SASE had a $.37 stamp with another $.07 of additional postage added.
(2) The SASE was addressed to my QTH of 2002 - and my original call. And no
return address, but I can only assume (since we still live in the same town)
that someone at the Post Office recognized my name. Good thing; there was
not only no return address on the envelope, but none on the card itself
either.
(3) The card itself was the "VQ5V" card from the 2004 CQ WPX CW contest.
(4) There's no indication on the card itself which of the five calls (the
contest call or the 4 operators) the QSO's confirm.
Oh well. At least it came. I'd guess it must have been sitting somewhere
forgotten or overlooked for the last 6-3/4 years!
So it goes.
Does make me wonder how many cards in similar situations end up in the Dead
Letter Office (or modern equivalent), if not the circular file...
