[Dx-qsl] 5B4TI?

A friend, KE4PT, is trying to confirm a 1989 QSO on 15m SSB with 5B4TI.
The Buck database lists 5B4TI as:
 
C G Mike Smedal
Box 7121
Nicosia
CYPRUS
 
The F6CYV database lists 5B4TI as:
 
MIKE SMEDAL, 
PO BOX 22186, 
FT LAUDERDALE, FL 33335
 
WWW.QSLINFO.DE has 5B4TI as the QSL manager for a list of stations, as
late as 24-12-2007.  There are also numerous references to KD9AY as his
QSL manager who, according to QRZ.com, is Carl G. Smedal at the Ft.
Lauderdale address above.  However, the KD9AY license expired last year.
 
SASEs to both addresses have not been returned.  Can anyone offer any
insight?
