[Dx-qsl] Why QSLing still lives

The most obvious reason QSLing continues is this: LOTW still lacks
interoperability with other award systems.
Yes, the Honor Roll is the most popular award, but it isn't the only award.
Until one can routinely and reliably apply LOTW credits to other programs,
QSLing will see little or no reduction for that reason alone. Who knows
what present _or future_ program one will want to participate in? Getting
the QSL in the first year is easy -- ten years later, not so much.
And, yeah, people do like to collect pretty things, but after the 1,000th
card, I suspect it ceases to become a major motivation for many of us.
Still, when I do my occasional DXpedition, I do admit that I go with a
'prettier' card than I use stateside. Compared to the cost of everything
else, a nice card is the least of my expenses, so why not try and make
folks happy?
