There are many opinions on this issue of whether the full DXCC list gets published in the yearbook. For most people near the top of this list, this is nearly a lifetime achievement. I have every yearbook since 1993, which is the first time I was listed. It was a great disappointment for me when they stopped including the list a few years ago, and I vented my feelings on the DXCC folks. Without the list, it is like a collection "How's DX" articles. For me, the yearbook is a chronological record of our significant efforts at trying to get to the top of that list. I do look back at old issues to see my progress, and that of my peers. If it a cost issue, charge me a few bucks for the privilege of receiving it. I would gladly contribute if they would continue publishing the list in each issue..
I was a little disappointed that they used the "total" country counts which includes deleted countries in the totals. I am not saying that deleted countries are not important, but it is more an indication of age rather than abilities. Without the Current Countries count, you don't know what it is for each individual.
With today's resources (computers, DX Clusters, etc.) and the multitude of DXpeditions compared to many years ago, it is much easier to accumulate confirmed entities. I was very fortunate to make the Honor Roll in less that ten years because of this. It is a great source of pride to see my call sign in those listings. It isn't only for me, but for the many peers I associate with in this great hobby.
