Mario, HK3O, who manages 5K3T, provided some information about 5K3T QSLing
that he asked me to pass on to the list.
Mail to Colombia is very slow (4 months from Europe and 2 months from the
US). QSL are frequently lost or stolen both coming into and going out of
Colombia. Because the mail is slow and unreliable, Mario set up the US post
office box listed in the QSL instructions. When questions or problems arise,
Mario prefers a direct email contact, rather than a public inquiry on the
lists. Mario does not subscribe to the lists, so he gets complaints
indirectly, if at all. He also points out that it doesn't do anyone any good
to engage in name-calling on the list. It's a public forum, and it should
remain civil!
The bottom line is that HK3O is doing his best to directly answer all QSLs
that arrive in Colombia with sufficient return postage (IRCs), and he is
uploading at least some logs to LoTW. Occasionally, QSLs get lost or stolen
(mine apparently got lost or stolen more than once!). The key is patience
and direct email to Mario to resolve any questions or problems.
I hope I've conveyed Mario's message accurately.
Good DX!
Nelson, KU0A
