On 2/18/2003, I logged onto the TR8CA bulletin board after reading a
talk message on OH2AQ webcluster site and Alain
sent me a talk message like Hello!.. I said hello back and he asked me
if I would like to try 20M SSB to check propagation to the East Coast.
I said sure, and we met on SSB.. He then asked me if I could qsy to 20
CW and I was happy to give him a report also on CW. He then said to qsy
to 21.020 and he would call me. Again, an exchange on CW. We also worked
on SSB. I almost was ready to say tnx and leave when he said "want to
try 17M SSB? "Why not", I said and proceeded to 18.140 where I got a 599
again. Now he wanted to run to 18.070 and again we had great
conditions. Let's try 12 and we made CW and SSB qsos on both modes..
Now we went to 10 Meters and worked on CW, SSB and FM !..Now the best
part is I received qsls from Alain in the mail which came from F6CBC in
a few weeks.. I subsequently worked him on 17 RTTY and have received his
qsl from F6CBC for this qso via the bureau... You can't say anything bad
about Alain.. sorry for the long story but I thought it was really
neat. 73/DX.. Ron
