Sounds like a reasonable idea, if all you need is a QSL for display.
The biggest problem has to do with acceptance for awards (as Dave also
pointed out).

But there is one big difference pertaining to authentication. If you
mail it, the card has your original signature on it that was not
produced by a printer. Likewise when a QSL manager sends out a card it
usually has some sort of authenticating stamp applied by hand. If this
kind of authentication is missing, how can anyone tell that the
receiving operator hasn't simply fabricated the DX card themself? A
picture or re-creation of a signature or stamp is not the same thing as
the signature or stamp itself. The former can only be created by the
originating operator - the latter can be created by anyone with a printer.
Even for display purposes, I'm not sure I'd want to display QSLs I
printed myself on my own printer - any more than I'd want to display a
fax or photocopy of a diploma or an award.
This is the same problem e-qsl has.
