W3UR explained:
>Yes the VU7LD logs have been uploaded to LOTW. The callsign was VU7LD and
>not VU7LD/VU2xxx. The /VU2xxx was to indicate who the operator was. This
>was required by Indian authorities but the actual license was VU7LD! So if
>you don't have a match or confirmation you should check your LOTW log!
That is nice, but as KK6T pointed out, VU7LD/VU#xxx
was the callsign being transmitted. Therefore, that was
the callsign of that station as indicated by that station,
not VU7LD "being operated by VU#xxx". Two very
different things.
The callsign on one the licenses I hold was different than
what the telecom authority there told me to use on the
air, so by applying this logic, LoTW would never match
a single QSO I have made from that place.
And what to do with somebody like KL0S (worked the
other day, so quickly comes to mind). He is actually
in W4, but signs KL0S/4. Do you log what he sends (he
is not in KL4-land), or what presumably is printed on his
license (just KL0S)?
In addition to "what is your call?", guess we now need
to get used to asking "what is the call printed on your
license?" & "what is the call you will upload your logs
as?". So much for sending what should be sent &
simply logging that. ;^)
