[Dx-qsl] VU7LD qsos upload to LOTW

Once you upload a QSO to LotW, there is no way to correct it if you later
discover an error in what you uploaded. Someone who has already uploaded a
QSO with VU7LD/VU3RSB must now upload a QSO with VU7LD -- either by
modifying the original QSO in his or her log and then re-uploading it, or by
logging a new QSO with VU7LD that is in all other respects identical to the
VU7LD/VU3RSB QSO and re-uploading that. If one chooses the first approach,
then one's log is accurate, but there's now an entry in LOTW -- the QSO with
VU7LD/VU3RSB -- that matches no QSO in the user's log; we have come to refer
to these as Zombie QSOs. The second approach ensures that there's a logged
QSO for each of the user's LOTW entries, but records the same VU7LD QSO
twice. Pick your poison.

It would be nice if a user could delete an erroneous LotW entry in his or
her account so that uploading a correction didn't create a Zombie.

    73,

         Dave, AA6YQ

That's fine Bernie. I'll take the blame for uploading my VU7LD QSO
wrong. That's not really my point. My point is that this type of
confusion will continue for LOTW transactions because LOTW is so rigid
as to what constitutes a legitimate match, as well it should. This puts
the burden on DXpeditions to make sure they indicate what callsign is
going to be uploaded.

This might even require logging programs to have an additional field:
LOTW callsign vs. logged callsign.
