On November 30, 2006. my 9 years old boy got his
novice call - VK2FJDX. The very same day he made 8 contacts with VK's
Because he is not yet a member of QSL bureau
I suggested to him to send all qsl cards direct with self addressed envelope
and appropriate return postage (stamps).
One would think this is enough to get the cards back but we went
step further writing on each card "Thank you for the contact, I am 9 years
old. Please QSL".
To cut to long story short, six weeks later he only received 2 cards back.
The return rate is an astonishing 25% !
After all this I am now convinced that worst QSL'ers are not Russian,
Yugoslav or Indonesians.
They are actually my own country folks - the VK's.
Is "no-qsl" policy now becoming a global phenomenon?
Is anyone actually teaching new hams that replying to QSL card should be
common courtesy ?
Or was that part of ham syllabus chopped off and washed way along with Morse
code requirement?
