I believe that CFS Alert is still in operation but no hams have been there
for a year or more. I worked them along time ago (1980 XJ5AE/VE8). Alert
counts for IOTA NA-008 Ellesmere Isl. The gris is FR82. There are
several other Canadian Met bases in the Arctic so keep your ears pealed
and your eyes on the DX spots, you never know. I do chase Fields with 165
confirmed. Good Luck with the chase in the New Year

Maybe a little OT.
I believe CFS Alert is no longer in operation, the callsign was VE8RCS.
Does anyone know Lat/Lon or grid square?
All the card says is "450 Nautical miles from the North Pole"
Thanks, I think I need this field!
