[Dx-qsl] Rcvd: 5A7A... but...

What's a "mode error?"
No, it's at best a busted call from someone else. I went to check the
on-line logs shortly after I worked them on 75 SSB & 80 CW (ironically, a
"before" and "after" when I shifted the HF6V from phone to CW for the
contest); they hadn't shown up yet, but the RTTY QSO was there.
And I'm not sure what you mean by "do the right thing and keep the DXCC
program at its highest standard." I would certainly think it obvious that
if I was going to pull any shennanigans, I wouldn't even mention this! On
the contrary, it is precisely because I'm concerned about keeping DXCC at
the highest possible standards that I asked for suggestions. If bringing a
discrepancy like this to light isn't trying to maintain high standards, then
I don't know what is.

confirming a QSO I never made."
Just use the qsl to confirm the contacts that you knew you had made...
If you do not operate RTTY it's a moot point and probably
a mode-error... Just do the right thing and keep the DXCC program at its
highest standard... I am still wating very patiently for
my cards which I sent with a strip type envelope etc :-) 73 DX Ron (-:
