A common mistake is sending US Stamps to a foreign country (on a SASE). I´ve
gotten them a number of times. FYI, US Stamps only work for the US postal
system. I thought this was common knowledge..it seems not.

Correct - do NOT [if you insist on sending stamps rather than IRC's $
etc] stick them on the envelope.
The reasons are multiple, manifold and various......just please do not
do it.
