I've seen a few times about how you should write mailing address to
Reunion Is. and the other overseas departments/territorial
collectivities/territories of French Republic.

>From Japan, you need to refer to Japan Post to find out whether Japan
Post recognizes the destination country/region/island/whatever and
actually delivers what you want to send.

Japan Post announces which country/region/island/whatever they deliver
internationally at (written in Japanese):

http://www.post.japanpost.jp/service/intel_service/ko_johken/html/naate.htm

So I put the name of the destination in Japanese after the address in
alphabets so that Japan Post people can understand where the destination
really is. (Many Japan Post workers do not understand foreign languages
but Japanese.) For Reunion, I just write so in Japanese, and it works.
(Some other successful examples include: Tristan da Cunha, Faroe Is.,
Isle of Man.)

Just FYI.
