Dear OM HK3CW,
If you read the Dxbulletins from 3 weeks ago you may recall a special
Peter One bulletin which said 3/4 of special QSL's to "contributors" had
been sent first - this was week before Dayton and rest of contributors
would be sent theirs after Dayton. Considering many who sent $$ to
support Peter One without asking for "special treatment" and Peter One
dxped people went out of their way to say they had mailed special QSLs
FIRST to contributors - and many are still waiting, again not expecting
special treatment, why havent the ones that were told they would get a
"special first mailing" still wating? I see nothing wrong in asking -
considering there are several hams in places the USA who may have "spotty
mail service" and a postal system which has no accountability including
mine. I have a fine life, thank you very much. Retired at age 67, (ham
52 years) and when one sends a direct QSL and keeps being told to be
"patient" for months - nay years on end when you pay for the return
postage to boot, at my age patience is no longer a virtue when all one
asks for is a timely reply and a chance to hold the coveted QSL in their
hands before they join the big dxpedition in the sky. I dont go after
awards and the fancy tropies. To each his own, I say. That's what makes
ham radio interesting. I just like the QSL. I know who I worked and so
does the other guy. The QSL is the final courtesy of a QSO. To chastize
someone for asking a simple question you don't happen to agree with is
unreasonable. Where we live, freedom of speech is still a right. Have a
good day and Gracias Amigo! 73 Al w3awu
